What is happening?

LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

ENFIELD ROAD, HUNCOAT, HYNDBURN BOROUGH
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2022

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council have made an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which 
will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this 
notice.

1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over that length of Enfield Road, Huncaot, Accrington, Hyndburn Borough. from 20M either side of the level crossing

2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.

3. The prohibition will be operative from 23:00 hours on Saturday 2nd July 2022 until 08:00 hours on Sunday 3rd July 2022or until completion of the works within this period. Closure times will be overnight 23:00-08:00

An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via DIVERSION FOR VEHICLES UNDER 14’3’ 

Head east on Enfield Rd - At the roundabout, continue straight onto Station Rd - Turn right onto Lower Gate Rd - Head south on Lower Gate Rd towards Towneley Ave - Continue onto Higher Gate Rd - Turn right onto Burnley Rd/A679 - Head south-west on Burnley Rd/A679 towards Kingsway - Turn right onto Bolton Ave - Head north-west on Bolton Ave towards Bolton Ave - Turn right onto Whinney Hill Rd – continue onto Enfield 

DIVERSION FOR VEHICLE OVER 14’3’’ 

Head south on Lower Gate Rd towards Towneley Ave - Head south on Lower Gate Rd towards Towneley Ave - Continue onto Higher Gate Rd - Turn right onto Burnley Rd/A679 - Head south-west on Burnley Rd/A679 towards Kingsway - Turn right onto Penny House Ln/B6237 - Head north-west on Penny House Ln/B6237 towards Robert St - Turn right onto Whalley Rd/A680 - Head north on Whalley Rd/A680 towards Lime Rd

The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow a stone blowing machine pass through the level crossing
