Prestongate, Hessle - Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic and Rescindment of One Way
What is happening?
THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC AND RESCINDMENT OF ONE WAY) ORDER 2025
PRESTONGATE, HESSLE (WHOLE EXTENT)
East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any person from causing any vehicle to proceed along Prestongate, Hessle (whole extent).
The reason for the closure is to enable the proposed Highway improvement works, to be carried out and completed in a manner consistent with ensuring the safety of the public. It is anticipated that the works will be completed by 27 March 2026. The alternative route for traffic affected by the Order is via South Lane, Station Road and Southgate, Hessle. The road will be closed to all through traffic but remain open at all times to pedestrians and for vehicular access to properties directly affected by the closure and for emergency services. The Order will commence Monday 6 October 2025 until Friday 28 November 2025 and Monday 5 January 2026 to Friday 27 March 2026 (24 hours a day) and continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
