STOCKTON-ON-TEES BOROUGH COUNCIL
STOCKTON & DARLINGTON RAILWAY 200 ANNIVERSARY JOURNEY 2025 TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2025
Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 on 26 September 2025, the Highway Authority being satisfied that the restrictions are required because of the likelihood of danger to the public, or of serious damage to the road, which is not attributable to such works.
The effect of the Order, which will come into effect on 26 September 2025, is to temporarily close various lengths of roads and footpaths and create temporary clearways within the Borough. The restrictions and roads affected are specified in the Order and plans, which can be viewed on the Council's website (Traffic Orders). It is expected that the closures will be between approximately 18:00hrs on Saturday 27 September - 14:00hrs on Sunday 28 September 2025.
The temporary road closures and clearway restrictions may continue in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. The temporary footpath closures may continue in force for a maximum period of six months, unless extended with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport. Alternative routes will be signed on site. Access for emergency services will be maintained. Access for pedestrians will not be maintained during the footpath closures. Bus services will be affected.
