Rotherham Area - Multiple Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic Orders

What is happening?

ROTHERHAM METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)
PART OF PUBLIC FOOTPATH NO.8 CATCLIFFE ROTHERHAM
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS)
NOTICE is hereby given that Rotherham Borough Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any pedestrian from proceeding along that part of Public Footpath No.8 Catcliffe commencing from Poplar Way and proceeding in a southerly direction for a distance of 290m from Monday 29th September 2025 for a period of 6 months.
NOTICE is further given that the alternative route for pedestrians affected by the Order will be via the footways adjacent to adopted highways.
Reason for the prohibition – because of the likelihood of danger to the Public (Excavation works).

PARTS OF RIVERSIDE WALK FOOTPATH
ROTHERHAM TOWN CENTRE
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS)
NOTICE is hereby given that Rotherham Borough Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any pedestrian from proceeding along the parts of Riverside Walk specified in the Schedule to this notice from Wednesday 1st October 2025 until Tuesday 31st March 2026.
NOTICE is further given that the alternative routes for pedestrians will be via the footways adjacent to Corporation Street, Bridge Street and vice versa.
The reason for the prohibition is because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the footpath (Redevelopment works associated works with Corporation Street public realm).
SCHEDULE
(i) Riverside Walk footpath from its junction with Bridge Street to its junction with the new footbridge crossing the River Don to the Forge Island complex.
(ii) The unadopted footpath from its junction with the new footbridge crossing the River Don to the Forge Island complex to its junction with Corporation Street.

(AMENDMENT NO. 232) ORDER 2025
No waiting at any time
Brecks Lane and A631 Bawtry Road, Brecks, Rotherham Notice is hereby given that Rotherham Borough Council acting in its capacity as traffic authority for the borough of Rotherham proposes to make the above-mentioned Order under the provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, the Traffic Management Act 2004 and all other enabling powers.
The effect of the order if implemented will be to introduce ‘No Waiting at any Time’ restrictions to the parts of road specified in the Schedule to this notice.

No Waiting at Any Time
Brecks Lane, Brecks, Rotherham
i. Both sides from the north-western kerb line of East Bawtry Road for a distance of 45m in a north westerly direction.
A631 Bawtry Road
i. North-west kerb line from the extended south west kerb line of Brecks Lane for a distance of 10m in a south westerly direction ii. North-west kerb line from the extended north-eastern kerb line of Brecks Lane for a distance of 5m in a north easterly direction
Exemptions will apply to the no waiting at any time restrictions to enable a vehicle to wait for passengers to board or alight, for disabled badge holders, for loading and unloading of goods, for enabling work to be carried out in or adjacent to the road and for emergency service vehicles.
Copies of the proposed Order a map showing the length and side of the roads affected and a statement of the Council’s reasons for proposing to make the Order may be inspected during normal office hours at the Council’s Offices at the address shown below.
Objections to the proposed Order and other representations relating to it can be sent to the undersigned (quoting reference NF/82610, e-mail Legal-TRO@rotherham.gov.uk) at the address shown below and must be received by the undersigned no later than the 24th October 2025. All objections and other representations must be made in writing, and all objections must specify the grounds on which they are made.
