Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.
ASHFORD AREA
THE KENT COUNTY COUNCIL
(VARIOUS ROADS, ASHFORD)
(SPEED LIMITS) (CONSOLIDATION) ORDER (AMENDMENT No.2) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is hereby given that the Kent County Council proposes to make an Order under Sections 81, 82, 84 and 124 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which would be to reduce the existing speed limits on the following length of roads in Newenden, Ashford:-
Lossenham Lane – From its junction with Rye Road for a distance of 620 metres in an easterly direction.

(CONSOLIDATION) ORDER 2023 (AMENDMENT No.7) ORDER 2024
Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984
Notice is given that THE KENT COUNTY COUNCIL acting as the Local Traffic Authority and in exercise of its powers under Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 19, 32, 35, 36, 45, 46, 47, 49, 53, 124 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (‘the Act’), the Traffic Management Act 2004 and all other enabling powers, after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act, hereby make the following Order:-
The effect of the made Order will be to introduce or amend existing waiting restrictions (DYL means double yellow lines “no waiting at any time” restrictions) in the following length of roads:-
Roads Wye in the Borough of Ashford
ABBOTS WALK – DYL - On both side from its junction with Churchfield Way for a distance of 12 metres in a north easterly direction. BRIDGE STREET- DYL – (1) On the northeast side from its junction with Church Street extend the existing DYLs outside 169 Bridge Street by 2.5 metres in a westerly direction. (2) On the northeast side extend the existing DYLs by 2 metres in an easterly direction outside 17 Bridge Street. (3) On the southwest side from its junction with Stongate to a point 10 metres northwest and to a point 15 metres southeast to join up with the existing DYLs. (4) On the southwest side extend the existing DYL by a distance of 5.5 metres in an easterly direction outside 148/150 Bridge Street. (5) On its southwest side join up both set of existing DYL outside and between 134/140 Bridge Street. (6) On its southwest side extend the existing DYLs by 4 metres outside 126 Bridge Street to join up with the bus stop. (7) On the southwest side form its eastern kerb junction with the access road to Wye Village Hall for a distance of 18 metres in a south easterly direction. (8) On the southwest side from its junction with Dennes Mill Close for a distance of 19 metres in a southeasterly direction. CHERRY GARDEN LANE - DYL – On the east side from its junction with Upper Bridge Street for a distance of 8.5 metres in a southerly direction. CHURCH STREET – DYL – On the west side reduce the existing DYL by a distance of 17 metres outside 9/15 Church Street. CHURCHFIELD WAY – DYL – (1) On both sides at its northern junction with Churchfield Way for a distance of 9 metres in a northerly direction. (2) On its northeast side from its junction with Abbots Walk in a northerly direction to join up with the bus stop and in a southeasterly direction to join up the existing DYLs outside 75/76 Churchfield Way. (3) On the north side from its junction with The Forstal to a point 15 metres east and to join up with the existing DYLs in a westerly direction for 34 metres. HIGH STREET - DYL – On the southwest side at outside 138 High Street remove 6 metres of parking bay and replace with a DYL. OLD VICARAGE GARDENS – DYL – (1) On the southwest side of its junction with Upper Bridge Street for a distance of 10 metres in a north westerly direction. (2) On the northeast side of its junction with Upper Bridge Street for a distance of 8 metres in a north westerly direction. STONEGATE - DYL – (1) On the west side from its junction with Bridge Street for a distance of 34 metres in a southerly direction. (2) On the east side from its junction with Bridge Street for a distance of 24 metres in a southerly direction. THE FORSTAL - DYL - On both sides of its junction with Churchfield Way for a distance of 12 metres in a northerly direction. UPPER BRIDGE STREET - DYL – (1) On the south side from its junction with Cherry Garden Lane for a distance of 9 metres in a westerly direction. (2) On the northwest side to a point 10 metres north and 10 metres south of its junction with Old Vicarage Gardens.
The Order was made on 2 October 2025 and its provisions will come into effect on 3 October 2025.

Anyone may, by application to the High Court within 6 weeks of the date of publication of this Notice, challenge the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained in them on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or any instrument made thereunder, or that there has been a failure to comply with any statutory requirement to the Orders.
SWALE AREA

(SPEED LIMITS) (CONSOLIDATION) ORDER
(AMENDMENT No.1) ORDER 2025
Notice is given that KENT COUNTY COUNCIL, acting as Local Traffic Authority and in exercise of its powers under sections 81, 82, 84 and 124 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (hereinafter referred to as the Act) and all other enabling powers, after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act, hereby make the following order.
The effect of the order would be to introduce a 30MPH speed limit on the following lengths of roads in Ospringe, Faversham:-
BROGDALE ROAD - From its junction with Whitehill to the western boundary of Ash Cottage, Brogdale Road. PORTERS LANE – For its entire length. STALISFIELD ROAD – From its junction with Whitehill to the western boundary of 6 Meadow Bank. WHITEHILL – For its entire length.
This order was originally advertised as Amendment 9 but due to the recent consolidation order it has been renamed as above.
The Order was made on 2 October 2025 and its provisions will come into effect on 3 October 2025.

THANET AREA

(CONSOLIDATION) ORDER 2025
(AMENDMENT No.1) ORDER 2025
Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984
NOTICE is given that the Kent County Council hereby proposes to make the above-named Order under Sections 81, 82, 84 and 124 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which would be to reduce the current speed limit to 20MPH on the following roads in Acol, Thanet:-
ACOL HILL – From its junction with Crispe Road for a distance of 206 metres in a northerly direction. CRISPE ROAD – From its junction with Acol Hill for a distance of 342 meters in a westerly direction. MARGATE HILL – From its junction with Acol Hill for a distance of 30 metres in an easterly direction to join up with the existing 30mph speed limit. MINSTER ROAD – From its junction with Plumstone Road and The Street for a distance of 222 metres in a southerly direction. PLUMSTONE ROAD – From its junction with The Street and Minster Road for a distance of 347 metres in a westerly direction. DILNOT LANE, NURSERY FIELDS & THE STREET – For their entire length.
