Hallgate, Cottingham - Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic to Enable Telecoms Maintenance Works

What is happening?

THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL 

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (1) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC HALLGATE, COTTINGHAM 

Notice is hereby given that East Riding of Yorkshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order, the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along Hallgate, Cottingham commencing Monday 13 October 2025 to enable telecoms maintenance works. The road closure is necessary to enable the works to be carried out in a manner consistent with ensuring the safety of the public. 

The Order is valid for 18 months, but it is anticipated that the works will be completed within the same day. 

The alternative route for traffic affected by the road closure will be via Hallgate, West End Road, Northgate, George Street, Baynard Avenue, South Street and King Street, Cottingham. The diversion route will be signed at the time of closure. The road will be closed to all vehicles due to the works, however there will be a pedestrian diversion in place.
