What is happening?
SOUTH GLOUCESTERSHIRE COUNCIL
(Park Lane, Winterbourne) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Park Lane which extends from a point 230m north west of Badminton Road northwards for 195m.
This order was required for the following reason: in connection with bridge repair works. The order became operative from 29 September 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months.
The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of a 1 night duration, between 10pm and 6am. Alternative route: Park Lane, Woodend Road, Beesmoor Road, A432 Badminton Road and vice versa.
(Perrinpit Road, Frampton Cotterell) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles, Foot Passengers, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians that length of Perrinpit Road which extends from B4427 Old Gloucester Road to Perrinpit Farm.
This order was required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon s.184 road resurfacing works on or adjacent to the highway. The order became operative from 29 September 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 5 days duration.
Alternative route: Perrinpit Road (part unaffected), B4058 Bristol Road, B4059 Latteridge Road, B4427 Old Gloucester Road and vice versa.
(Various Roads, Various Wards – Surface Dressing Patching and Resurfacing) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has:-
a) closed, temporarily, to vehicles, pedal cycles and equestrians the lengths of road specified in Schedule 1 to this notice;
b) suspended, temporarily, when the signs are covered the South Gloucestershire Council (Weight Restriction Zone – Frampton Cotterell Area) (Prohibition of Heavy Commercial Vehicles of Over 7.5 Tonnes Maximum Gross Weight) Order 2001 in so far as it relates to the length of road specified in Schedule 2 to this notice to facilitate the alternative routes for heavy vehicles;
c) suspended, temporarily, when the signs are covered the South Gloucestershire Council
(Down Road, Westerleigh) (Temporary Prohibition of Heavy Vehicles Over 7.5 Tonnes Maximum Gross Weight) Order 2024 in so far as it relates to the length of road specified in Schedule 3 to this notice to facilitate the alternative routes for heavy vehicles.
This order was required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon pre surface dressing and carriageway resurfacing works. The order became operative from 29 September 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months.
The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 10 days duration, in respect of each location.

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians the lengths of road specified in the Schedule to this notice.

(Redwick Road, Pilning) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Redwick Road which extends from Severn Road to Northwick Road. This order was required for the following reason: in connection with carriageway reconstruction and resurfacing works.
The order became operative from 1 October 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 5 weeks duration.
Alternative route: B4055, A4018, Crow Lane, B4055, A4018, A4162, A4, A403 and vice versa.
(Public Footpath LWB/80, Hambrook) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Foot Passengers, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the above order, made by South Gloucestershire District Council on 19 March 2025, has been continued in force with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport until 30 March 2026 or until such time as the works are completed, whichever is the earlier.
The effect of the order has closed, temporarily, to foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians that length of Public Footpath LWB/80 which extends from Footpath/Cyclepath Avon Ring Road northwards for 50m. This order was required in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon Active Travel CRSTS works and would have expired on 30 September 2025.
Alternative Route: A4174 Footway Westbound, Pedestrian Crossing over Bristol Road, Pedestrian Crossing over B4058, Pedestrian Crossing over A4174 Northbound, Pedestrian Crossing over B4058, A4174 Footway Eastbound and vice versa.
(Thornbury Road – Northbound, Alveston) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles, pedal cycles and equestrians that length of Thornbury Road northbound carriageway which extends from Down Road north westwards for 510m. This order is required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon Active Travel CRSTS works on or adjacent to the highway.
The order will be operative from 20 October 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 12 weeks duration, between 6am and 8pm. Alternative route: B4061 (part unaffected) heading southbound, A38, Grovesend Road, Midland Way, B4061 (part unaffected) and vice versa.
(Thornbury Road, Alveston) (No.2) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles, Foot Passengers, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians that length of Thornbury Road which extends from Down Road north westwards for 510m.
This order is required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon Active Travel CRSTS works on or adjacent to the highway.
The order will be operative from 20 October 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 12 weeks duration, between 8pm and 6am.
Alternative route: B4061 (part unaffected), A38, Grovesend Road, Midland Way, B4061 (part unaffected) and vice versa.
(Goose Green Way Cycle Path, Yate) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Pedal Cycles) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to pedal cycles that length of Goose Green Way Cycle Path which extends from Randolph Avenue to Peg Hill.
This order is required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon HV cable installation works. The order will be operative from 20 October 2025 for a maximum period of six months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 5 weeks duration. Alternative route: Randolph Avenue, Eastfield Drive, Peg Hill and vice versa.
(Kings Drive, Stoke Gifford) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Kings Drive which extends from Castle Court westwards for 30m. This order is required for the following reason: in connection with s.81 manhole cover repair works.
The order will be operative from 22 October 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of a 1 day duration, between 9:30am and 3:30pm. Alternative route: Kings Drive.
(Church Road, Bitton) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles, Foot Passengers, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians that length of Church Road which extends from a point 320m south west of High Street north westwards for 90m.
This order is required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon tree removal works on or adjacent to the highway. The order will be operative from 22 October 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 3 days duration.
Alternative route: High Street, Church Road (parts unaffected) and vice versa.
(Little Sodbury End Lane, Little Sodbury) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Little Sodbury End Lane which extends from New Tyning Lane westwards for 300m.
This order is required for the following reason: in connection with tree cutting works. The order will be operative from 23 October 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months.
The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 2 days duration. Alternative route: Portway Lane, Commonmead Lane, A432, A46 and vice versa.
(Bradley Stoke Way, Baileys Court Road, Webbs Wood Road and Roundabouts, Bradley Stoke) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of road specified in the Schedule to this notice.
This order is required for the following reason: in connection with CRSTS Active Travel Scheme works. The order will be operative from 20 October 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 2 months duration, between 8pm and 6am. Access will be maintained throughout, and it is anticipated that the whole length should not be closed at any one time, but in stages.

1. Bradley Stoke Way – that length which extends from The Worthys to Savages Wood Roundabout;
2. Great Meadow Roundabout – the entire length;
3. Webbs Wood Roundabout – the entire length;
