Osborne Avenue, Temporary Road Closures Due To Highway Works
What is happening?
CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (OSBORNE AVENUE, CARLISLE) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable highway works to be carried out ("the Works"), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following sections of road:
Phase 1 - Osborne Avenue, Carlisle from its north western junction with Stanhope Road, extending in a south westerly direction for 20m to a point adjacent to No.2 Osborne Avenue.
Duration: From 6 October 2025 for approx. 2 days (Ref: TTROC/15340)
Phase 2 - Osborne Avenue, Carlisle from its south western junction with Stanhope Road, extending in a south westerly direction for 20m to a point adjacent to No.48 Osborne Avenue.
Duration: From 8 October 2025 for approx. 2 days (Ref: TTROC/15340)
A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times and a suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available via the unrestricted sections of Osborne Avenue and Stanhope Road.

The Order will come into operation on 6 October 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required as detailed above, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
