(TRAFFIC REGULATION) (NO 1) ORDER 2024
STANLEY FERRY BRIDGE (W65),
FERRY LANE, STANLEY
The Council of the City of Wakefield, in exercise of powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and the Traffic Management Act 2004, has made the above Order, the effect of which, in relation to Stanley Ferry Bridge, Ferry Lane, Stanley has been to introduce a 26 tonne weight restriction on the length of Stanley Ferry Bridge. Previously advertised in April 2023 to be an 18 tonnes weight limit, however this is now to be 26 tonnes.
The order comes into force on the 30th September 2025. A copy of the Traffic Regulation Order, together with a map showing the affected roads and the Statement of Reasons for proposing to make the Order may be viewed on the website www.wakefield.gov.uk/tro.
If you wish to question the validity of the Order or any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the grounds that any requirements of that Act or of any Instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may, within six weeks from the date upon which the Order was made (ie. 22nd September 2025) apply to the High Court for this purpose.
