CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL
(HARLINGTON: PARTS OF FOOTPATH NO 23, FOOTPATH NO 4 AND FOOTPATH NO 36)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Order made by Central Bedfordshire Council on the 14th March 2025 the effect of which will be to prohibit any person proceeding on foot along the length of public Footpath No. 23, Harlington which extends from Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 0365 2999 to OS GR TL 0350 2927, along that part of public Footpath No. 4 which extends from OS GR TL 0384 3002 to OS GR TL 0387 2996, and along the length of public Footpath No. 36 from OS GR TL 0350 2972 to OS GR TL 0385 2994. has been continued in force with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport until 26th September 2026.
This temporary closure is required to install the remaining site drainage and to construct the new (FP36) and upgraded (FP23) Footpaths. The closure is expected to continue from 27th September 2025 for up to twelve months.
The alternative route for footpath users while the closure is in operation is shown by the green lines on the plan for Footpath No. 4. which runs through the estate between points B and C on the plan, and the suggested connection to Bridleway No. 21 at the south. For Footpath No. 23 and Footpath No. 36 there is no alternative route for footpath users while the closure is in operation.

If the works are not completed within twelve months the Order may be extended for a longer period with the consent of the Secretary of State for Transport.
