Suffolk, Multiple Roads, Temporary Closures Due To Various Works

What is happening?

SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984: SECTION 14

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U6316 EAST BARTON ROAD AND THE U6318 GREEN LANE, GREAT BARTON

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the following roads in the following phases:

  1. U6316 East Barton Road, Great Barton from the junction with The Street to Shrub End.

  2. U6318 Green Lane, Great Barton from the junction with East Barton Road for 211 metres westbound.

    This is to facilitate fibre installation works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

    Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

    The diversion routes will be:

  3. East Barton Road, Thurston Road, Barton Road, Thurston Road, Ixworth Road, The Street and vice versa.

  4. Thurston Road, Ixworth Road, The Street, East Barton Road, The Street, Church Road and vice versa.

    It is intended that the closures will operate from

  5. 01/10/2025 - 21/10/2025

  6. 22/10/2025 - 11/11/2025

    If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C612 HERRINGSWELL ROAD, KENTFORD

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the C612 Herringswell Road, Kentford from 740 metres north of Bury Road for 200 metres northbound to facilitate drainage works and carriageway repairs. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Herringswell Road, the B1506, the B1085, Dane Hill Road, Herringswell Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 01/10/2025 - 05/10/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U3704 MILL LANE, BUTLEY

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the U3704 Mill Lane, Butley from the junction with the B1084 to Burley Mills studios to facilitate grass cutting. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be The Street, Orford Road, Padley Water, the B1084 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate on 01/10/2025 from 8am – 5pm but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).
