This temporary road closure is required to facilitate tree trimming and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.
This temporary road closure is anticipated to be in operation 08:00 to 18:00 hours 6th October 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Bedford Borough Council has made an order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along those lengths of Rushden Road, Sharnbrook from Riseley Road to Rushden Road,Rushden Road Bletsoe to the Avenue Bletsoe, C26 Bletsoe from A6 Rushden Road Sharnbrook to UC33 Mill Road Thurleigh at a speed exceeding 40 mph.
This temporary 40 mph speed restrictions are required for safety of the public and workforce for re surfacing carriageway and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

SOME PARKING RESTRICTIONS IN GREEN LANE, WIXAMS
Reason for Proposal:
Bedford Borough Council proposes to introduce “No stopping on entrance markings” restrictions in the vicinity of Wixams Academy and Wixams Tree Primary Academy. The restrictions are deemed necessary to maintain safety for both those attending the school and other highway users in the area.
Effect of the Order:
1. To introduce “No stopping on entrance markings” restrictions on the following length of road:
Green Lane, Wixams
(i) On its north-western kerb, in 2 sections on both sides of the school entrance, extending from a point approx. 52 metres south-west of the projected centre of Thistle Lane to a point approx. 86 metres north-east of the projected centre of Thistle Lane

(ii) On the south side, extending from a point approx. 5 metres east of the eastern side of Harpur Street in a westerly direction, crossing Harpur Street to connect with the off-carriageway cycle track on the west side of Harpur Street.
Harpur Street, Bedford
(i) On the west side, extending from a point approx. 11 metres north of its junction with St Loyes Street in a northerly direction to Dame Alice Street, crossing Dame Alice Street and continuing to a point approx. 12 metres north of the north side of Dame Alice Street.

(BYWAY OPEN TO ALL TRAFFIC) (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2025
Bedford Borough Council (“the Authority”) in exercise of its powers under Sections 1(1), 2(1), 2(2) and 92 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“The Act”) and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part Ill of Schedule 9 of the Act hereby makes the following Order:-
1. An Order to revoke and replace the following Orders made by the former County Council of Bedfordshire:
i. Dawes Field Road Byway Open to All Traffic No 61 Ravensden Restriction of use Order 2002
ii. Donkey Lane and Forty Foot Lane Restriction of use Order 2001
iii. Hargrave Road Byway Open to All Traffic No D26 Dean and Shelton Restriction of use Order 2005
iv. Various Byways Open to All Traffic in North Bedfordshire Restriction of use Order 1999
v. Yielden to Shelton Byways Open to All Traffic No Y15 and S15 Restriction of use Order 2002
2. This Order shall come into operation on 16th September 2025 and may be cited as the Byway Open To All Traffic (Prohibition of Driving) Order 2025.
3. In this Order:
“Council” means Bedford Borough Council
“Ordnance Survey” means Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OSGR)
“BOAT” means Byway Open To All Traffic
“Furniture” means the use of such equipment installed by the Council to prevent access to the BOAT
4. PROHIBITION OF DRIVING
Save as provided in Article 4 of this Order, no person shall cause or permit any motor vehicle with more than two wheels to proceed along the BOATs specified in the Schedule to this Order or any part thereof at any time between 1st October and 30th April, both dates inclusive and/or when such furniture has been installed by the Council to specifically prevent access for reasons of safety and/or to prevent damage to the surface of the BOATs.
5. EXEMPTIONS
Nothing in Article 4 of this Order shall apply so as to render it unlawful to cause or permit any motor vehicle with more than two wheels to proceed along the BOAT specified in the Schedule to this Order if the vehicle is being used:
a) As an emergency vehicle or by any local authority or statutory undertaker in
pursuance of their statutory powers and duties
b) To enable work to be carried out in, under, on or adjacent to the BOAT
c) For access to any premises situated on or adjacent to the BOAT or for access to any other premises accessible for such a vehicle only from that BOAT, including the use for the purposes of agricultural or land management of any land or premises adjacent to the BOAT
d) On the direction of or with the permission of a Police Constable in uniform
e) With the prior written consent of the Authority on such terms as may be required by the Authority
5. The Council is satisfied that for avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the BOAT to which the order relates and for preventing damage to the BOAT or buildings on or near it is requisite that Section 3(1) of the Act should not apply to this Order
