What is happening?

THE COUNCIL OF THE BOROUGH OF NORTH TYNESIDE 

BRIDLEWAY WIDEOPEN 2 

TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC ORDER 2025 

North Tyneside Council gives notice that it intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the order is to prohibit all through traffic along the full length of Bridleway Wideopen 2 between Great North Road and the western access to Weetslade Country Park, Wideopen (approximately 1632 metres), as and when signage dictates. 

The connected public paths will remain open. 

The Order is required on a temporary basis for engineering works and will come into force on 2 October 2025 for a period not exceeding 6 months (it is anticipated the works will actually be completed by 1 December 2025).
