(40 MPH and 50 MPH Speed Limit) Order 2025
NOTICE is hereby given that WSCC has recently made a permanent Order under the provisions of the Road Traffic regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to enact a recently installed 40MPH speed limit on Brighton Road/ Henfield Road (A281) in the parishes of Albourne and Poynings, from 50M west of its junction with Clappers Lane eastwards and southwards to a point 250M south of its junction with Muddleswood Road (B2117).
The Order also enacts a 40MPH speed limit on Muddleswood Road (B2117) from its junction with Brighton Road/Henfield Road (A281) eastwards for 210M.
A copy of the Order, which will come into operation on 29 September 2025, together with plans showing the affected lengths of road may be viewed on the WSCC website. People without access to a computer who wish to view details of the scheme should telephone the WSCC Contact Centre on 01243 642105 to receive the documents by post.
Any person who wishes to question the validity of this Order, or of any provision contained therein, on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Act, or on the grounds that any requirement of the Act, or any instrument made under it, has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may within 6 weeks from 25 September 2025, apply to the High Court for this purpose.

(Burgess Hill: Gatehouse Lane to Sussex Way Footpath)
(Temporary Closure) Order 2025
NOTICE is hereby given that WSCC has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily close Gatehouse Lane to Sussex Way Footpath in Burgess Hill throughout its entire length.
The closure of this route is due to allow gas mains to be replaced in safety.
The Order will come into effect on 29 September 2025 and remain in force until 31 October 2025. Once made, the Order may remain in force for up to 18 months, or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is earlier.
During the operative periods of this Order alternative routes for vehicles will be indicated on site. Access to properties on the affected length of road will be maintained at all times.
