A64 Trunk Road, Askham Bar - Temporary Prohibition and Restriction Order
What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14
THE A64 TRUNK ROAD (ASKHAM BAR)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited has made an Order on the A64 Trunk Road, in the County of West Yorkshire, to enable traffic light works to be carried out in safety.
The works are expected to start at 09:00 hrs on Wednesday 22 October 2025 for 1 month, or until completed.
The effect of the Notice will be to, between 8pm and 6am, at times during the works, to:
(i) Impose a temporary 30mph speed restriction on the A64 eastbound carriageway from the exit slip road at Askham Bar eastwards for a distance of 480 metres; and
(ii) Close the eastbound exit slip road at Askham Bar.
Traffic management will be in force and traffic signs will indicate the extent of the prohibition and restriction (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or special forces vehicles). The Order comes into force on
21 October 2025 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months.
