ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14(1)
LONDON BOROUGH OF MERTON
(WEST BARNES LANE, KT3)
(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) (NO. 5) ORDER 2025
The restrictions will only apply during such times and to such extent as will from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.
An alternative route for diverted vehicular traffic will be via West Barnes Lane, Claremont Avenue, Burlington Road and West Barnes Lane, or vice versa.
Pedestrians affected by the road closure should proceed using Station Road, the Motspur Park pedestrian bridge (public right of way No. 130) and Claremont Avenue.
Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal of the Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.
Nothing in the Order will apply: -
(a) to any person carrying out the works or any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works;
(b) to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a police community support officer in uniform; or
(c) to any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes, subject to site conditions; or
(d) so as to prevent vehicular access to premises in or adjacent to the length of road specified in paragraph 2 above, insofar as access is reasonably practicable without interference with the works.
The Order will come into operation at 12.01am on Tuesday 30th September 2025 and remain in force until 5am on Friday 3rd October 2025, with the works taking place each night between the hours of 12.01am and 5am only.

(RIDGWAY PLACE, SW19)
(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) (NO. 7)
ORDER 2025
The Council of the London Borough of Merton hereby give notice that to facilitate crane lifts in Ridgway Place, they intend to make an Order, the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict pedestrian and vehicular traffic in the said road.
During the works, no person would:–
(a) cause or permit any vehicle to enter or proceed in Ridgway Place, from a point 5 metres south-east of the common boundary of Nos. 53 and 55 Ridgway Place to a point 5 metres south-east of the common boundary of Nos. 43 and 45 Ridgway Place; or
(b) cause or permit any vehicle to wait, including for the purposes of loading or unloading, in the length of Ridgway Place; or
(c) enter or proceed in the north-eastern footway of the length of Ridgway Place specified in sub-paragraph (a) above.
Any designated parking place situated in the length of Ridgway Place specified in sub-paragraph 2(a) above would be suspended for the duration of the works.
The restrictions would only apply during such times and to such extent as would from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.
Vehicular traffic affected by the road closure should proceed by way of one or more of the following roads:- Ridgway, Murray Road, Spencer Hill, Worple Road and Wimbledon Hill Road.
Pedestrians affected by the footway closure should proceed using the footway opposite.
Public Right of Way No. 26 would remain accessible during the works.
8. Nothing in the Order would apply to: –
(a) any person or vehicle engaged in the execution of the said works; or
(b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a police community support officer in uniform; or
(c) any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes, subject to site conditions; or
(d) any person requiring vehicular access to properties adjacent to the prohibited road or length of road insofar as access is reasonably practicable without interference with the said works;
(e) any person so as to prevent their access to any property adjacent to the prohibited footway or length of footway specified in sub-paragraph 2(c) above.
Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any waiting prohibition imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.
The Order would come into operation at Thursday 2nd October 2025 and it is anticipated that the works would be completed that day, with Thursday 9th October 2025 and Thursday 16th October 2025 scheduled as back-up dates. However, the Order would remain in force for 3 months should further works be required.

(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
The Council of the London Borough of Merton hereby give notice that to facilitate lead water supply replacement works in Woodland Way, Morden; they intend to make an Order, the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict vehicular traffic in the said road.
During the works, no person would cause or permit any vehicle to:–
(a) enter or proceed in Woodland Way, from the north-eastern boundary of No. 2 Woodland Way to the south-western boundary of No. 4 Woodland Way;
(b) wait, including for the purposes of loading or unloading, in the road or length of road specified in sub-paragraph (a) above.
Any designated parking place situated in the length of road specified in paragraph 2(a) above would be suspended for the duration of the works.

(b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a police community support officer in uniform; or
(c) any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes, subject to site conditions; or
(d) any person requiring vehicular access to properties adjacent to the prohibited roads or lengths of road insofar as access is reasonably practicable without interference with the said works.
Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any waiting prohibition imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.
The Order would come into operation on Tuesday 7 October 2025 and the works are anticipated to be completed by Monday 13 October 2025. However, the Order would remain in force for 3 months should further works be required.

(RUTLISH ROAD AND KINGSTON ROAD, SW19)
(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) (NO. 2)
ORDER 2025
The Council of the London Borough of Merton hereby give notice, that to facilitate new water connection works in Rutlish Road at its junction with Kingston Road, they have made an Order, the effect of which will be to temporarily restrict vehicular traffic in the said roads.
During the works, no person will cause or permit any vehicle to:–
(a) enter or proceed in Rutlish Road, from the south-eastern kerb-line of Kingston Road south-eastward for a distance of 42 metres;
(b) wait, including for the purpose of loading or unloading any vehicle, in:–
(i) the road or length of road specified in sub-paragraph (a) above;
(ii) Kingston Road, both sides, from the common boundary of Nos. 171 and 173 Kingston Road to the common boundary of Nos. 189 and 191 Kingston Road.
