What is happening?

THE LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(PUBLIC FOOTPATH FP0702075 WALTON-LE-DALE, SOUTH RIBBLE)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Lancashire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which is to prohibit temporarily any pedestrian from proceeding over the Public Footpath
indicated below:-

Public Footpath FP0702075 from point A (SD 5448 2584) at the junction with Brownedge Road, South Ribble in a southerly direction for approximately 125 metres to Point B (SD 5448 2572) at the junction with Watkin Lane, South Ribble.

The closure is necessary whilst works are carried out on or near the footpath.

Access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the footpath, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from, the footpath, will be maintained at all times.

Nothing in the order shall apply to emergency service vehicles or to those undertaking the works

The Order will be operative from the 2nd day of October 2025, for a period of 6 months or until the works are completed within this period.

The plan on site shows the routes to be closed as A – B. Lancashire County Council is informed that an alternative route is available.

The alternative route has not been inspected in connection with this closure. Please contact the Rights of Way Team on 01772 530317, during office hours, if necessary.
