The Croydon (Prohibition and Restriction of Stopping, Loading and Waiting) and

(Free Parking Places) (No.19) Order 2025

The Croydon (On-Street Charged-For Parking Places) (No.19) Order 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Croydon Council on 18 September 2025 made the above Traffic Orders under section 6 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended and all other enabling powers.

  1. The general effect of the Orders will be to:

    (a) Revoke the disabled parking places in the vicinity of No. 54 Aldrich Crescent, Croydon, No. 7 Coledown Hill, Purley, No. 258 Davidson Road, Croydon, No. 24 Kitchener Road, Thornton Heath, No. 72 Langdale Road, Thornton Heath, No. 62 Lambourne Road, Purley, and No. 31 Woodside Avenue, South Norwood.

    (b) Designate new parking places at which vehicles displaying a disabled persons' badge may be left without charge or time limit in the following locations.

(c) Amend the map-based tiles to the Schedule attached to the above Orders to accurately represent the new parking arrangements as they exist on site.

  1. Copies of the Orders, which will come into operation on 22 September 2025 and of all associated Orders can be inspected between 9am and 4pm, Monday to Friday inclusive, until the last day of a period of six weeks beginning with the date on which the Orders are made or, as the case may be, the Council decides not to make the Orders, by appointment with the Parking Design Team, Croydon Council (Parking Design), 6 Mint Walk, Croydon, CR0 1EA (telephone 020 8726 6000 and ask for Parking Design). Alternatively all related documents or further information may be requested by email to Parking.Design@croydon.gov.uk

  2. Any person desiring to question the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained in them on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made there under have not been complied with in relation to the Orders may, within six weeks of the date on which the Orders were made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT, 1984, SECTION 14 AS AMENDED

THE ROAD TRAFFIC (TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) ACT 1991 AND ALL OTHER ENABLING POWERS

STATION ROAD, SOUTH NORWOOD

TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC

  1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate utility investigation and repair works, they intend to make an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict traffic movements in Station Road, South Norwood.

  2. Whilst the said works are taking place Station Road (fronting property Nos. 26 to 32 and 25 to 33) will be closed between its junction with Cargreen Road and Norwood Junction Station Car Park.

  3. The Order will come into operation on 02 October 2025, and it is anticipated that the work will be carried out within five days. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required.

  4. Whilst the closure is in place, access and egress will be maintained and supervised by Marshalls.

  5. The restriction shall not apply in respect of:

    (a) a vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.

    (b) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

    (c) any vehicle involved in carrying out the specified works.

RUSSELL HILL, PURLEY

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC & PARKING

  1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate gas main replacement works by SGN, they intend to make an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily prohibit vehicular traffic and parking in Russell Hill, Purley.

  2. Whilst the said works are taking place:

    (a) The entire length of Russell Hill will be closed westbound (towards Plough Lane) in phases.

    (b) Parking in Russell Hill will be suspended on both sides of the road and waiting and loading restrictions will apply "at any time".

  3. The Order will come into operation on 02 October 2025, and it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 16 March 2026. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required.

  4. During the closure the diversion route for vehicular traffic will be via Plough Lane, Foxley Lane, and Russell Hill Road.

  5. The prohibitions will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.

  6. The restrictions shall not apply in respect of:

    (a) a vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.

    (b) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

    (c) any vehicle involved in carrying out the specified works.

HERMITAGE ROAD, KENLEY

TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC

  1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate works to install a new water supply by SES Water, they have made an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict traffic in Hermitage Road, Kenley.

  2. Whilst the said works are taking place, Hermitage Road will be closed outside Wrenwood Court, No. 38 Hermitage Road.

  3. During the closure traffic will be diverted via Hermitage Road, Kenley Lane and vice versa.

  4. The Order will come into operation on 22 September 2025, and it is anticipated that the work will be completed on 26 September 2025. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required.

  5. The restriction shall not apply in respect of:

    (a) A vehicle involved in used for the works.

    (b) A vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.

    (c) Anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

  6. The restriction will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.
