What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (1) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC GREENOAK LANE LEVEL CROSSING, GILBERDYKE
Notice is hereby given that East Riding of Yorkshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order, the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along Greenoak Lane Level Crossing, Gilberdyke and 20 metres either side of the level crossing commencing 21 October 2025 between 00.05 hours until 05.10 hours for the purposes of a track tamping machine to improve track quality works. The road closure is necessary to enable the works to be carried out in a manner consistent with ensuring the safety of the public. The Order is valid for 18 months, but it is anticipated that the works will be completed within five hours.
The alternative route for traffic affected by the road closure will be via Greenoak Lane, B1230 Main Road, Clementhorpe Road, Scalby Lane, Station Road, Staddlethorpe Broad Lane and Bellasize Lane, Laxton CP, Gilberdyke CP, Blacktoft CP, Eastrington CP, Howdenshire Ward. The diversion route will be signed at the time of closure. The road will be closed to all traffic without exception and to pedestrians.
