What is happening?

 THE EAST RIDING OFYORKSHIRE COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (1) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC

PART OF NEW LANE, LAXTON

Notice is hereby given that East Riding of Yorkshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order, the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along part of New Lane, Laxton from a point 200 metres south of the junction with Station road southbound for approximately 250 metres commencing 14 October 2025 for the purposes of carrying out high voltage overhead line works.

The road closure is necessary to enable the works to be carried out in a manner consistent with ensuring the safety of the public. The Order is valid for 18 months, but it is anticipated that the works will be completed within one day.

The alternative route for traffic affected by the road closure will be via New Lane, Station Road, Trandy Lane, Skelton Broad Lane, road from Hazelcrofts Bridge to Moorfields Lane, Moorfields Lane, Main Street and Fox Lane, Laxton CP, Kilpin CP, Howdenshire Ward.

The diversion route will be signed at the time of closure. The road will be closed to all through traffic however access will be maintained for residents, emergency vehicles and pedestrians.
