Essex, Multiple Roads, Temporary Closures Due To Various Works

What is happening?

Essex County Council

(Harlow District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On-Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) (Amendment No.77) Order 202X

Notice is hereby given Colchester City Council acting on behalf of the North Essex Parking Partnership in exercise of the delegated powers of the traffic authority Essex County Council granted under an Agreement dated 11 July 2022 proposes to make the above Order under Sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 4 (1), (2), 32, 35,45,46,49 and 53 and Parts III and IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

The effect of the Order:

  1. To introduce a Restricted Parking Zone No waiting at any time in Goldsmiths (Partridge Road, Harlow), in respect to the length of road for the times set out in the schedule.

This Order will be incorporated into The Essex County Council (Harlow District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On-Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019 by replacing like-number TL540 (as shown in 202X in revision 3)

(Churchgate Street, Harlow) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Churchgate Street, Harlow in the District of Harlow, from its junction with Sheering Road to its junction with Mill Lane a distance of approximately 120m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 13th October 2025 for 5 days or where stated on a valid permit (EP2018142390007 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

An alternative route is available via Sheering Road, A1025, A414, London Road, Harlow Common, First Avenue, Hobbs Cross Road, Churchgate Street and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 25th September 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

Downhall Road, Matching Green (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Downhall Road, Matching Green in the District of Epping Forest, from a point approximately 200m east of its junction with Matching Road for a distance of approximately 165m in an easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 20th October 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC41100415582101 – UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new service connection works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.

An alternative route is available via Downhall Road, Matching Tye Road, Church Lane, Matching Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 25th September 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

Laundry Lane, Nazeing (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Laundry Lane, Nazeing in the District of Epping Forest, from a point approximately 215m north west of its junction with Waltham Road to a point approximately 420m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 22nd October 2025 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (C300465632294 – UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.

An alternative route is available via Waltham Road, St Leonards Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 25th September 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

Upland Road, Epping Upland (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Upland Road, Epping Upland in the District of Epping Forest, from a point approximately 1425m south west of its junction with High Road for a distance of approximately 40m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 20th October 2025 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201575308602 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while culvert repair works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

An alternative route is available via Upland Road, High Road, Thornwood Road, Palmers Hill, Lindsey Street, Epping Road, Upland Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 25th September 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

Woodgreen Road, Waltham Abbey (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Woodgreen Road, Waltham Abbey in the District of Epping Forest, from both of its junction with Woodridden Hill to its junction with Woodbine Close a distance of approximately 360m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 13th October 2025 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP20182390142 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while drainage works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

An alternative route is available via A121, B193, Crown Hill, Copthall Green, Horseshoe Hill, Woodgreen Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 25th September 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

Galleyhill Road, Waltham Abbey (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Galleyhill Road, Waltham Abbey in the District of Epping Forest, from a point approximately 145m north east of its junction with Parklands for a distance of approximately 130m in a north then west then north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 6th October 2025 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (BC008WT67819258 – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole replacement and tree cutting works are undertaken by Openreach.

No diversion route is available.

The Order came into effect on 11th September 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

Harlow Road, Moreton (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Harlow Road, Moreton in the District of Epping Forest, from its junction with Mill Mead Bridge Road, a distance of approximately 150m in a westerly then north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 29th September 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MX0041082094 – Affinity Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while water mains repair works are undertaken by Affinity Water.

An alternative route is available via Harlow Road, Mill Mead Bridge Road, A414, Four Wantz, B184, Moreton Road, Moreton Bridge, Bridge Road and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 11th September 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Hook Lane, Lambourne) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Hook Lane, Lambourne in the District of Epping Forest, from a point approximately 150m north east of its junction with Manor Road for a distance of approximately 60m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 6th October 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MX0410217958 – Affinity Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while frame & lid renewal works are undertaken by Affinity Water.

An alternative route is available via Hook Lane, Stapleford Road, Bournebridge Lane and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 11th September 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

Sheering Lower Road, Sheering (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Sheering Lower Road, Sheering in the District of Epping Forest, from a point approximately 220m north west then west of its junction with Sheering Road for a distance of 105m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 2nd October 2025 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC4110011W6YGR9H8L – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole replacement works are undertaken by Openreach.

An alternative route is available via Sheering Lower Road, Back Lane, Harlow Road, Sheering Road, Sheering Lower Road and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 11th September 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
