TEMPORARY CLOSING OF FOOTPATH HITCHIN 10
NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit pedestrians from using that length of Footpath Hitchin 10, heading south from Strathmore Avenue and Brampton Park Road, for an approximate distance of 250m.
Alternative Route: via Strathmore Avenue, Old Hale Way and Brampton Park Road
The purpose of the Order is to enable utilities works to take place.
The section of Footpath Hitchin 10 will be closed on or after 01 October 2025 for up to 5 days, when signs are in place.

NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION OF AN EXTINGUISHMENT ORDER
(OTHER THAN AN ACQUISITION EXTINGUISHMENT ORDER)
HIGHWAYS ACT 1980, SECTION 118
(HOLWELL 19)
EXTINGUISHMENT ORDER 2025
On 11th September 2025, Hertfordshire County Council confirmed the above Order made under section 118 of the Highways Act 1980.
The effect of the Order as confirmed is to extinguish the public footpath running from Holwell Road to Rands Meadow recreation ground, as shown on the Order Plan.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF THE FOOTPATH FRONTING NOS.1–19 LONG HYDE, STEVENAGE) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all pedestrians from using the footpath fronting Nos.1–19 Long Hyde, Stevenage from its junction with Wigram Way north eastwards to its junction with Shephall Way, a distance of approximately 98m (“the Footpath”).
An alternative route will be via the footway situated on the north east side of Wigram Way, the footpath fronting Nos.2–12 Little Hyde and the footpath situated on the south east side of Shephall Way.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Footpath.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 6 October 2025 for a period of up to 6 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Footpath.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF GIPSY LANE, KNEBWORTH) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Gipsy Lane, Knebworth from its junction with Spinney Lane northwards and north eastwards for a distance of approximately 678m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Wych Elm Lane, Bridge Road, B197 London Road, Gun Road, Stockens Green and Gipsy Lane.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 9 October 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF BROADWAY, LETCHWORTH GARDEN CITY) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the southbound carriageway of Broadway, Letchworth Garden City from a point 20m north east of its junction with Arena Parade south westwards for a distance of approximately 85m (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via Broadway, Station Place, Station Road, Norton Way South, Pixmore Way and Broadway.
The Order is needed because the replacement of existing gas mains is proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 6 October 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF BURY MEAD ROAD, HITCHIN) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Bury Mead Road, Hitchin from a point 95m north west of its junction with Grove Road north westwards for a distance of approximately 30m (“the Road”).
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
The Order is needed because utility repair works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 6 October 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF THE CYCLE TRACK SITUATED ON THE NORTH SIDE OF MAXWELL ROAD, STEVENAGE) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all pedal cycles from using the cycle track situated on the north side of Maxwell Road, Stevenage from a point in line with the western boundary of ‘Serviceline House’ south westwards for a distance of approximately 35m (“the Cycle Track”).
Pedal Cyclists will need to dismount and use the adjacent footway.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Cycle Track.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 6 October 2025 for a period of up to 6 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Cycle Track.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF THORNBURY CLOSE, STEVENAGE) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Thornbury Close, Stevenage from a point 57m south east of its junction with Berkeley Close eastwards for a distance of approximately 20m (“the Road”).
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
The Order is needed because electrical repair works are proposed to be executed near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 23 September 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF THE CYCLE TRACK SITUATED ON THE WEST SIDE OF GRESLEY WAY, STEVENAGE) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all pedal cycles from using the cycle track situated on the west side of Gresley Way, Stevenage from its junction with Magpie Crescent south eastwards and south westwards to its junction with Stevenage UUCR No.3 (Dene Lane), a distance of approximately 429m (“the Cycle Track”).
An alternative route will be via Magpie Crescent, the footpath situated on the north west side of Nos. 9–25 Blackberry Mead, Stevenage BOAT No.109 and Stevenage UUCR No.3 (Dene Lane).
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Cycle Track.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 22 September 2025 for a period of up to 6 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Cycle Track.

ROAD HUMPS AND PEDESTRIAN CROSSING NOTICE
(HIGH STREET AND BELL LANE, STEVENAGE) 2025
NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council in order to improve road safety proposes under sections 90A – 90F of the Highways Act 1980 and in accordance with The Highways (Road Humps) Regulations 1999, to install a raised speed table and a raised continuous footway in those lengths of High Street and Bell Lane, Stevenage as specified in Schedule 1 to this Notice.
It is also proposed under Section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to construct a Zebra pedestrian crossing facility on that length of High Street, Stevenage as specified in Schedule 2 to this Notice.

SCHEDULE 1: Raised speed table and raised continuous footway – those sections of road listed below and as set out in the scheme plan
– Parts of High Street and Bell Lane.
Raised speed table
High Street – from a point 18.5 metres south east of a point in line with the projected south east kerbline of Walkern Road south eastwards for 6 metres.
The above raised speed table will be constructed at a height of approximately 65mm above the existing carriageway with on/off gradients of approximately 1:20.
Raised continuous footway
Bell Lane – from a point 5.6 metres south west of a point in line with the projected west kerbline of High Street south westwards for 3 metres.
The above raised continuous footway will be constructed at a height of approximately 100mm above the existing carriageway with on/off gradients of approximately 1:6.
SCHEDULE 2: Zebra pedestrian crossing facility to be constructed on the raised speed table in Schedule 1 – that section of road listed below and as set out in the scheme plan
– Part of High Street – centred on a point 21.5 metres south east of a point in line with the projected south east kerbline of Walkern Road.
