What is happening?

NORTH LANARKSHIRE COUNCIL 

WESTLEA PLACE AND EASTLEA PLACE, AIRDRIE (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2025 

On 15 September 2025 the North Lanarkshire Council made the above-named Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by Schedule 1 of the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, and in exercise of all other enabling powers, which makes it unlawful for any person to drive or cause or permit to be driven any motor vehicle (with the exception of vehicles engaged on new electrical supply to properties) on the undernoted roads by reason of works being executed on or near that location. 

Westlea Place, Airdrie From the extended west kerb line of Gartfield Street to its termination point westwards for a distance of 105m or thereby. 

Alternative routes: There are no alternative routes. 

Eastlea Place, Airdrie From the extended east kerb of Gartfield Street to its termination point eastwards a distance of 90m or thereby. 

Alternative routes: There are no alternative routes. 

Pedestrian access will be maintained, where practicable, during the closure. 

Vehicular access will be maintained, where practicable, during the closure. 

The Order, which will only be in place when displayed by signs, will come into operation at 0001 hours on Monday, 29 September 2025 and will remain in operation until 2359 hours on Monday, 3 November 2025.
