Panton Street, Cambridge Temporary Revocation Of One-Way Traffic Order – Order 2025-1952

NOTICE is given that Cambridgeshire County Council intends after 7 days, to make an Order pursuant to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which is to suspend the one way Traffic Order along Panton Street, Cambridge as lies between Coronation Street & A1603. During the period this Order remains in force The City of Cambridge Area A (Consolidation) Order 1993 as amended by the Cambridgeshire County Council (Various Streets) (Prohibition of Driving & One-way Streets) Order 2021: Schedule 6 – One Way Streets Part 2 – Roads & parts of roads in which pedal cycles are permitted to travel in the opposite direction of the one way street. Panton Street (from its junction with Saxon Street to its junction with Lensfield Road) from south to north. Panton Street (from its junction with Russell Court to its junction with Union Road) from south to north is hereby suspended insofar as it affects Panton Street as lies between its junctions with Coronation Street & A603. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate gas main replacement & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 1/10/25 & continue until these works have finished or on the 31/3/27 whichever is the earlier.

It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 1/10/25 & 28/2/26.

The Order shall not apply to any persons lawfully engaged in connection with any works for which it is made, any member of the Police Force, Fire & Rescue Service, Ambulance Service, a vehicle being used by Special Forces during the execution of their duties or to any person acting with the permission or upon the direction of a Police Officer in uniform.
