Cambridgeshire, Multiple Traffic Notices, Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic

What is happening?

CAMBRIDGESHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

NOTICE is given that Cambridgeshire County Council intends after 7 days, to make an Order pursuant to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which:

Station Road, Melbourn Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic – Order 2025-1611

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Station Road, Melbourn as lies between Dolphin Lane & High Street. The alternative route for vehicles is via High St, Melbourn; Royston Rd; A10; Station Rd, Meldreth; Station Rd, Melbourn & vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate new water connection & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 4/10/25 & continue until these works have finished or on the 3/4/27 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 4/10 & 5/10/25.

Chishill Road, Heydon Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic – Order 2025-1743

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Chishill Road, Heydon as lies between King William IV & No. 87. The alternative route for vehicles is via Heydon Ln, Heydon; Abrams Ln, Chrishall; Palmers Ln; The Green; High St; Hollow Rd; B1039; Heydon Rd, Great Chishill & vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate laying new water main & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 6/10/25 & continue until these works have finished or on the 5/4/27 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 6/10 & 12/10/25.

Access will be maintained to properties affected by these orders. The Order shall not apply to any persons lawfully engaged in connection with any works for which these are made, any member of the Police Force, Fire & Rescue Service, Ambulance Service, a vehicle being used by Special Forces during the execution of their duties or to any person acting with the permission or upon the direction of a Police Officer in uniform.
