What is happening?
THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
SECTION 14 (1) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION
OF THROUGH TRAFFIC PART OF HAYTON
ROAD AND CRUDHALL LANE, BIELBY
AND PART OF BIELBY LANE, HAYTON
Notice is hereby given that East Riding of Yorkshire
Council intends not less than seven days from the
date of this notice to make an Order, the effect of
which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding
along part of Hayton Road, Bielby from its junction
with Crudhall Lane westbound for approximately 300
metres, part of Crudhall Lane from its junction with
Hayton Road, Bielby to the access for Routh Lodge
and part of Bielby Lane, Hayton from its junction
with Crudhall Lane eastbound for approximately 100
metres commencing 21 October 2025 between
08.00 hours until 18.00 hours for the purposes
of excavation to install approximately 4200 metres of
telecoms duct to link into existing telecoms apparatus
as part of larger fibre to the home scheme works.
The road closures are necessary to enable the works
to be carried out in a manner consistent with
ensuring the safety of the public.
The Order is valid for 18 months, but it is anticipated
that the works will be completed within ten hours.
The alternative route for traffic affected by the road
closure will be via Hayton Road, Main Street, Common
Lane, Melbourne Road, Common Road, A1079 Hodsow
Lane Roundabout, A1079 York Road, Bielby Lane, Carr
Lane and Crudhall Lane, Seaton Ross CP, Melbourne CP,
Allerthorpe CP, Barmby Moor CP, Thornton CP,
Pocklington CP, Hayton CP, Bielby CP,
Pocklington Provincial Ward, Wolds Weighton Ward.
The diversion route will be signed at the time of
closure.
The road will be closed to all through traffic but access
will be maintained for residents, emergency vehicles and
pedestrians.
