Westmorland & Furness, Temporary Road Closures Due to Highway Works

What is happening?

WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL (A592 BOWNESS ON WINDERMERE AND C5087 LUPTON) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable highway works to be carried out (“the Works”), Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that section of the;

(i) A592 Bowness on Windermere, from its junction with the A591, extending in a south westerly direction for a distance of approx. 2.4km.

Alternative Route: via the A591 and the A5074.

Duration: From 6th October 2025 for approx. 2 weeks (Ref: TTROW/15810)

(ii) C5087 Lupton, from a point 400 metres north westerly of its junction with Jubilee Lane, extending in a south easterly direction for approx. 220 metres.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the C5087, A65, and C5088 Gallowber Lane.

Duration: From 6th October 2025 for approx. 5 days (Ref: TTROW/15788)

The Order will come into operation on 6th October 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
