What is happening?

Highways

 

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic  Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

 

TUNBRIDGE WELLS AREA

 

A228 Maidstone Road, Colts Hill (TEMPORARY 40 MPH SPEED RESTRICTION) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily impose a 40MPH speed limit on part of A228 Maidstone Road, Colts Hill, on or after 5th October 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The restriction will be in place in the vicinity of property named Little Hawkwell, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only. To the actual extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

 

A262 Goudhurst Road, Cranbrook (TEMPORARY 30 MPH SPEED RESTRICTION) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow new water connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily impose a mandatory 30MPH speed limit on part of A262 Goudhurst Road, Cranbrook in the vicinity of Whitewell House. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The restriction will be in place on or after 29th September 2025 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.

 

A268 High Street, Hawkhurst, TN18 4LH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow carriageway maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of A268 High Street, Hawkhurst, on or after 4th October 2025 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with A229 Highgate Hill to in the vicinity of the junction with Delmonden Lane, between the hours of 22:00 and 06:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via A268 High Street, A229 Highgate Hill, A229 Moor Hill, A229 The Moor, A229 Horns Road, A229 Horns Hill, A229 Coopers Corner, A21 Ashdene, A21 Hastings Road, A268 Hawkhurst Road and vice versa.

 

Biddenden Road, Frittenden, TN17 2BG (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow drainage works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Biddenden Road, Frittenden, on or after 29th September 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Lower Buckhurst. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Biddenden Road, The Street, Cranbrook Road, Frittenden Road, A229 The Common, A229 Wilsley Pound, A262 Sissinghurst Road, A262 The Street, A262 Biddenden Road, A262 Sissinghurst Road, A262 High Street, A274 North Street, A274 Headcorn Road, Frittenden Road, Buckhurst Lane, Biddenden Road and vice versa.

 

Crook Road & Yew Tree Green Road, Castle Hill (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on parts of Crook Road and Yew Tree Green Road, Castle Hill, on or after 13th October 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

Crook Road will be closed from the junction with Pearsons Green Road to Yew Tree Green Road, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

Yew Tree Green Road will be closed between Crook Road and the junction with B2162 Maidstone Road, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Crook Road, Pearsons Green Road, Churn Lane, B2162 Maidstone Road, Yew Tree Green Road and vice versa.

 

Cryals Road, Matfield TN12 7HP (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow drainage repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Cryals Road, Matfield, on or after 15th October 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between Cryals Lodge and Egypt Farm. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Petteridge Lane, Tibbs Court Lane, Cryals Road and vice versa.

 

Franks Hollow Road, Bidborough TN3 0UB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow electricity supply works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Franks Hollow Road, Bidborough, on or after 13th October 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Hillside Cottages. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Franks Hollow Road, High Street, B2176 Bidborough Ridge, A26 London Road, Victoria Road, Constitutional Hill Road, Bentham Hill, Stockland Green Road, Franks Hollow Road and vice versa.

 

Maypole Lane, Goudhurst, TN17 1AT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow drainage works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Maypole Lane, Goudhurst, on or after 29th September 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with B2079 Balcombes Hill to the junction with Tiddymotts Lane. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via B2079 Balcombes Hill, Tiddymotts Lane, Maypole Lane and vice versa.

 

Old Church Road, Pembury TN2 4AR (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow water pipe works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Old Church Road, Pembury, on or after 18th October 2025 for up to 12 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of the pumping station. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Old Church Road, A228 Pembury Northern Bypass, A228 Maidstone Road, A228 Colts Hill, Alders Road, Half Moon Lane, Pembury Hall Road, Old Church Road and vice versa.

 

Speldhurst Road, Southborough TN4 0FA (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Speldhurst Road, Southborough, on or after 19th October 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with Broomhill Road to the junction with Stockland Green Road, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Speldhurst Road, A26 St Johns Road, A26 London Road, B2176 Bidborough Ridge, B2176 Penshurst Road, Barden Road, Speldhurst Hill, Etherington Hill and vice versa.

 

The Green, Matfield, TN12 7LA (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow new water main installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of The Green, Matfield, on or after 29th September 2025 for up to 61 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Seymour Cottage. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via The Green, Chestnut Lane, B2160 Maidstone Road and vice versa.
