Dover, Multiple Temporary Traffic Regulation Notices

What is happening?

Highways

 

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic  Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

 

DOVER AREA

 

Beach Street, Deal, CT14 7AP (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & SUSPENSION OF ONE-WAY) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Beach Street, Deal, on or after 29th September 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 19, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The one-way Order will be suspended the entire length, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route. Every effort will be made to maintain access for residents whenever it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Blenheim Road, Deal, CT14 7DG (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & SUSPENSION OF ONE-WAY) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Blenheim Road, Deal, on or after 30th September 2025 for up to 7 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 31, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The one-way Order will be suspended the entire length, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via A258 Queen Street, A258 Broad Street, A258 Beach Street, A258 Prince Of Wales Terrace, A258 Deal Castle Road, A258 Victoria Road and Gilford Road.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Bulwark Road, Deal, CT14 6NZ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Bulwark Road, Deal, on or after 13th October 2025 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction of Dibdin Road to outside number 2, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Bulwark Road, Sandown Road, Dibdin Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Coldred Road, Shepherdswell (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Coldred Road, Shepherdswell, on or after 29th September 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed 20m either side of the pumping station, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Coldred Road, Church Road, Coldred Road, Chapel Hill, Shooters Hill, Shepherdswell Road, Mill Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Ellens Road, Deal (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Ellens Road, Deal, on or after 13th October 2025 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from outside The Firs to outside Hillcrest, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Ellens Road, Station Road, Court Road, Salisbury Road, St Richards Road, Mongeham Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Fishmongers Lane, King Street & Queen Street, Dover, CT16 1JS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & SUSPENSION OF ONE-WAY) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Fishmongers Lane, King Street & Queen Street, Dover, on or after 29th September 2025 for up to 9 days or until the works have been completed.

The restrictions will be imposed between the hours of 20:00 and 05:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

Fishmongers Lane will be closed at the junction of Queen Street.

The one-way Order for King Street will be suspended the entire length.

Queen Street will be closed at the junction of Fishmongers Lane.

The one-way Order for Queen Street will be suspended the entire length.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Market Square, Cannon Street, Biggin Street, Priory Street and A256 York Street.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Geddinge Lane, Dumbrill Hill & Shelvin Lane, Wootton (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Geddinge Lane, Dumbrill Hill & Shelvin Lane, Wootton, on or after 13th October 2025 for up to 61 days or until the works have been completed.

Closures will be imposed as a rolling closure. Once works are completed on one road works will commence on the next, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

Geddinge Lane will be closed from outside Five Oaks to the junction of A2 Dover Road.

The alternative route for any Eastbound through traffic is via Geddinge Lane, Wooton Lane, Denton Lane, A260 The Street, A260 Canterbury Road, A2 Dover Road, A260 Box Iron Road, A2 Barham Slip Eastbound On and A2 Dover Road.

The alternative route for any Westbound through traffic is via A2 Dover Road, A2 Barham Westbound Slip Off, A260 Canterbury Road, A260 The Street, Denton Lane, Wooton Lane and Geddinge Lane.

Dumbrill Hill will be closed from the junction of A2 Dover Road for approximately 160m in a Southerly direction.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Dumbrill Hill, Wooton Lane, Shelvin Lane, Shelvin Farm Road, Shelvin Lane, A2 Dover Road and vice versa.

Shelvin Lane will be closed between the junctions of A2 Dover Road and Side Hills.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Shelvin Lane, Shelvin Farm Road, Shelvin Lane, Wooton Lane, Dumbrill Hill, A2 Dover Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Ratling Road, Aylesham (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Ratling Road, Aylesham, on or after 29th September 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from 100m before Timberwell to 100m past Timberwell, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Ratling Road, Ackholt Road, Spinney Lane, Cooting Road, B2046 Adisham Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Richborough Road, Richborough, CT13 9JG (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow vegetation clearance to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Richborough Road, Richborough, on or after 30th September 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the level crossing to the viaduct, between the hours of 09:00 and 15:30 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Richborough Road, Cooper Street Drove, A257 Ash Bypass, Ash Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

River Street, River, CT17 0PP (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of River Street, River, on or after 29th September 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from outside number 3 to outside number 23, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via River Street and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Various Roads, Eastry & Woodnesborough (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow drainage works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Various Roads, Eastry & Woodnesborough, on or after 29th September 2025 for up to 87 days or until the works have been completed.

Works will be carried out in 4 phases as detailed below:

Phase 1 - Foxborough Hill will be closed from 29th September 2025, with estimated completion by 24th December 2025.

The road will be closed between the junctions of Drainless Road and Statenborough Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Foxborough Hill, Fir Tree Hill, The Street, Sandwich Road, Woodnesborough Road, St Barts Road, Dover Road, Deal Road, A258 Deal Road, A256 Sandwich Road, Sandwich Road, Statenborough Lane and vice versa.

Phase 2 - Drainless Road will be closed from 29th September 2025, with estimated completion by 24th November 2025.

The road will be closed at the junction of Foxborough Hill, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Drainless Road, Beacon Lane, Foxborough Hill and vice versa.

Phase 3 - Woodnesborough Lane will be closed from 18th October 2025, with estimated completion by 24th December 2025.

The road will be closed between the junctions of Foxborough Hill and Peak Drive, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Gore Lane, Gore Road, Woodnesborough Lane, Sandwich Road, A256 Sandwich Road, A258 Deal Road, Deal Road, Dover Road, St Barts Road, Woodnesborough Road, Sandwich Road, The Street, Fir Tree Hill, Foxborough Hill and vice versa.

Phase 4 - Statenborough Lane will be closed from 25th November 2025, with estimated completion by 24th December 2025.

The road will be closed at the junction of Foxborough Hill, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Foxborough Hill, Fir Tree Hill, The Street, Sandwich Road, Woodnesborough Road, St Barts Road, Dover Road, Deal Road, A258 Deal Road, A256 Sandwich Road, Sandwich Road, Statenborough Lane and vice versa

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
