THE A494 TRUNK ROAD (WESTBOUND CARRIAGEWAY & SLIP ROADS) & A550 (LINK ROADS) (TEMPORARY RESTRICTION AND PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company No. 09346363) intends to make an Order on the A494 and A550 Trunk Roads, in the Borough of Cheshire West and Chester, in the County of Cheshire, to enable cyclical maintenance works to be carried out in safety.

The Order will impose a 50 mph speed limit on the following:

a)

i. the A494 westbound dual carriageway, from a point 477 metres west of the A540 Parkgate Road Bridge, to a point 1,577 metres west of the same point;

ii. the A494 westbound entry slip road from the A540 Parkgate Road.

b) The Order will impose a 40 mph speed limit on the A494 westbound dual carriageway, from a point 1,577 metres west of the A540 Parkgate Road Bridge, to its border with Wales.

c) The Order will ban all traffic from the following:

i. the A494 westbound exit slip road to the A548 Deeside Park Interchange Roundabout, from the last point at which it leaves the A494 carriageway, to its border with Wales;

ii. the A550 southbound link road to the A548 Deeside Park Interchange Roundabout, from its start point, to its border with Wales;

iii. the A550 southbound link road to the A494 westbound carriageway, from its start point, to its border with Wales.

The restrictions and prohibitions are expected to take place overnight between 19:30 and 06:00 during a period starting on Sunday 26 October 2025 and ending on Friday 31 October 2025.

However, works may start and continue between the same times on subsequent nights or continue until completed.

Diversion routes via alternative junctions of the A494, A550 and local roads will be well signed.

The restrictions will not apply to emergency services or special-forces vehicles, and the prohibitions will not apply to emergency services or works vehicles. The restrictions and prohibitions will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall, be indicated by traffic signs.
