What is happening?

THE KINGSTON UPON HULL CITY COUNCIL

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025 

HULL FAIR WALTON STREET 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Kingston upon Hull City Council have today made an Order by virtue of Section 16(A) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as inserted by Section 1 of the Road Traffic Regulation (Special Events) Act 1984). 

The effect of the Order is to prohibit any person with a vehicle from proceeding along:- 

Lowther Street from its junction with Walton Street from 6am on Wednesday 8th October 2025 to 3pm on Sunday 19th October 2025; Walliker Street, from 6am on Wednesday 8th October 2025 to 3pm on Sunday 19th October 2025. The alternative route for vehicles will be via Anlaby Road, St Georges Road and Arthur Street and vice versa; Walton Street (to include lane restrictions on Spring Bank West), from 6am on Wednesday 8th October 2025 to 3pm on Sunday 19th October 2025. The alternative route for vehicles will be via Anlaby Road, Albert Avenue, Spring Bank West and vice versa. 

Anlaby Road (lane restriction) from 6am on Thursday 9th October 2025 to 3pm on Sunday 19th October 2025. 

West Park Internal Roads (access to the Stadium car park will be maintained under the Anlaby Road Flyover) from 6am on Thursday 9th October 2025 to 3pm on Sunday 19th October 2025. Pulman Street from 3pm to 11pm on Friday 10th October 2025; 2pm to 11pm on Saturday 11th October 2025; 4pm to 11pm, daily, on Monday 13th October 2025 until Thursday 16th October 2025; 3pm to 11pm on Friday 17th October 2025, and 2pm to 11pm on Saturday 18th October 2025. 

Granville Street and Sandringham Street (closure will be put in place in exceptional circumstances ONLY), from 4pm on Friday 10th October 2025 to 11pm on Saturday 18th October 2025. The alternative route for vehicles will be via Anlaby Road, St Georges Road and Arthur Street and vice versa. 

Access to Granville Street is prohibited to vehicles exceeding 6ft 6inches/2m in width, from 8am on Thursday 2nd October 2025 to 3pm on Sunday 19th October 2025. Additional Parking restrictions required to be included in the TTRO for Hull Fair are:- 

PARKING PERMIT HOLDERS ‘1’ ONLY – MONDAY TO FRIDAY, 6PM TO MIDNIGHT AND SATURDAY, SUNDAY AND BANK HOLIDAYS, 12PM TO MIDNIGHT.

This is in addition to the no parking restrictions that are in place. The purpose of the Order is to ensure the safety of the public and operatives during Hull Fair 2025. 

Access will be maintained for emergency services. 

The Order will come into effect on 2nd October 2025 and will continue in force for a period of 18 days. 

GREENWOOD AVENUE (PART) 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Kingston upon Hull City Council by virtue of Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 has made an Order. 

The effect of the Order is to prohibit any person with a vehicle from proceeding along Greenwood Avenue, outside number 204, Kingston upon Hull. 

The purpose of the Order is to ensure the safety of the public and operatives during excavation works to replace manhole frame and cover. 

The alternative route for vehicles will be signed. Access will be maintained for emergency services. 

The Order will come into effect 8th October 2025 and may continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out have been completed, whichever is the earlier. 

It is anticipated, however, that the works will be completed between 7.30pm and 11.30pm on 8th October 2025.
