What is happening?

BURY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984, SECTION 14(1)

THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH OF BURY

(SHEEPGATE DRIVE, TOTTINGTON)

TEMPORARY CLOSURE ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury have made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicles from proceeding along:-

  • Sheepgate Drive, Tottington – full length

The reason for the proposed order is to facilitate carriageway resurfacing works

There will be no alternative route as it’s a cul-de-sac road

The Order comes into operation on 22/09/2025 and shall remain in force for a period of up to 18 months, although the anticipated duration of the works is approximately 5 weeks.

THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH OF BURY (YORK STREET AREA, RADCLIFFE) (20 MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2025 AND TRAFFIC CALMING MEASURES

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bury Metropolitan Borough Council intends to make the above named Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as follows:-

20 mph speed limit applying to York Street and surrounding streets in Radcliffe.

A copy of the draft 20mph Speed Limit Order, plans showing the roads and areas affected, a schedule of all streets included and a statement of the Council’s reasons for making the Order and introducing the proposals may be requested by email at

?? traffic.calming@bury.gov.uk quoting reference TM34/25/17 and they will be available for inspection at the Town Hall from 9:30am – 4:30pm Mon – Fri.

All representations whether in support or objecting to the proposals, together with the grounds on which they are made must be made in writing and sent to the Traffic Team,

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bury Metropolitan Borough Council intends to make the above named Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as follows:-

The Metropolitan Borough of Bury (Victoria Lane Area, Whitefield) (20MPH Speed Limit) Order 2003 is amended:
