Kendal, Temporary Road Closures For Kendal Torchlight Street Festival

(VARIOUS ROADS, KENDAL) (KENDAL TORCHLIGHT STREET FESTIVAL)(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to facilitate the holding of the Kendal Torchlight Street Festival (“the Event”) in Kendal, Westmorland and Furness Council has made an Order under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the 1984 Act), with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport under Section(B)(6) of the 1984 Act, the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following lengths of road in Kendal: A6 Highgate, Kendal from its junction with Allhallows Lane and Lowther Street to Stricklandgate; and

A6 Stricklandgate, Kendal from Highgate to its junction with Library Road; and Market Place, Kendal – for its entire length; and Branthwaite Brow, Kendal – for its entire length; and Finkle Street, Kendal – for its entire length. There are no suitable alternative routes available for vehicles. A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

The Order will come into operation on 27 September 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of three days from that date. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required on Saturday 27th September between the hours of 0730 to 1700 and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
