Cypress Park, Temporary Road Closure Due To Resurfacing Works

What is happening?

The County Council of Durham (Cypress Park, Esh Winning) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2025

The Council proposes to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from proceeding on the following length of road: Cypress Park, in its entirety, from its junction with Birch Place, Esh Winning to enable carriageway surfacing works to be undertaken.

There is no alternative route for vehicular traffic but access will be afforded for emergency service vehicles if required.

The maximum duration of the Order is 18 months. The proposed works are to commence on Tuesday 7/10/2025 and are anticipated to be completed over a 9-day period, between 8am-4pm (no works Saturday, Sunday or Monday). On occasions, alternative dates for the closure may be necessary and these will be signed on site accordingly.
