Cumberland, Temporary Road Closures Due To Utility Works
What is happening?
CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (VARIOUS ROADS IN THE CUMBERLAND COUNCIL AREA) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) (NO.13) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Cumberland Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the lengths of road specified in the attached Schedule.
Vehicular access for residents will be signed on site by the display of relevant traffic signs as and when the temporary closures are in force. A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

The Order will come into operation on 23 September 2025 and may continue in force for a period of up to eighteen months.
However, the works are to be anticipated that the restrictions specified in the Schedule will only be required as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.

U2207 Lorton – From 23 September 2025 for approx. 5 days

From its junction with the U2199, extending in a north westerly direction for approx. 480m.
Alternative Route via the unrestricted section of the U2207, B5292, B5299 Church Lane and the U2199.
U1797 Padshaw – From 23 September 2025 for approx. 3 days

From a point approx. 500m south east of its junction with the A5086, extending in a south easterly direction for approx. 165m.
Alternative Route via the unrestricted section of the U1797 and the A5086 Pepperstock Brow.
U3006 Brackenwray – From 30 September 2025 for approx. 4 days

From its junction with the C2030 to its junction with the B5289.
Alternative Route via the B5289 and the C2030.
U2195 Mosser – From 30 September 2025 for approx. 4 days

From its junction with the C2030, extending in a north westerly direction for its entire length.
There is no suitable alternative route available for vehicles.
U2196 Eaglesfield – From 6 October 2025 for approx. 2 days

From its junction with the C2027, extending in a northerly direction for approx. 70m.
Alternative Route via the unrestricted sections of the U2192 and the C2027 Hotchberry-Brow.
U2194 Eaglesfield – From 14 October 2025 for approx. 3 days

From its junction with the C2027, extending in a north westerly direction for approx. 250m.

U7201 Bowness – From 16 October 2025 for approx. 2 days
