SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984: SECTION 14

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U6023 THE STREET, HOLYWELL ROW

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the U6023 The Street, Holywell Row from 110 metres south east of Laurel Close for 35 metres south eastbound to facilitate water pump maintenance works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period. Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be the A1101, Mildenhall Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate on 30/09/2025 from 9.30am - 3pm but if, necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE, SUSPENSION OF ONE-WAY AND SUSPENSION OF NO RIGHT TURN ON PART OF THE B1106 FORNHAM ROAD, A1101 FORNHAM ROAD AND MILDENHALL ROAD, U2521 BELL MEADOW, U2517 NORFOLK ROAD, U2501 TOLLGATE LANE AND U2513 HANOVER CLOSE, BURY ST EDMUNDS

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the following roads in the following phases:

Phase 1:

• A1101 Fornham Road, Bury St Edmunds from the junction with Fornham Road to the junction with Avenue Approach

• A1101 Mildenhall Road, Bury St Edmunds from the junction with the A1101 Fornham Road to the Best Western Hotel

• U2521 Bell Meadow, Bury St Edmunds from the junction with the A1101 Fornham Road to the junction with Layham Drive

• U2517 Norfolk Road, Bury St Edmunds from the junction with the A1101 Fornham Road for 30 metres westbound and;

• U2501 Tollgate Lane, Bury St Edmunds from the junction with Hanover Close to the junction with Mildenhall Road

Phase 2:

• B1106 Fornham Road, Bury St Edmunds from the junction with Fornham Road to Stratstone Garage

Phase 3:

• U2517 Norfolk Road, Bury St Edmunds from the junction with the A1101 Fornham Road for 30 metres westbound

Phase 4:

• A1101 Fornham Road, Bury St Edmunds from the junction with Fornham Road to the junction with Avenue Approach

• A1101 Mildenhall Road, Bury St Edmunds from the junction with the A1101 Fornham Road to the Best Western Hotel

• U2521 Bell Meadow, Bury St Edmunds from the junction with the A1101 Fornham Road to the junction with Layham Drive

• U2517 Norfolk Road, Bury St Edmunds from the junction with the A1101 Fornham Road for 30 metres westbound

• U2501 Tollgate Lane, Bury St Edmunds from the junction with Hanover Close to the junction with Mildenhall Road and;

• U2513 Hanover Close, Bury St Edmunds from the junction with Tollgate Lane for 30 metres northbound

This is to facilitate reconfiguration of Tollgate Gyratory junction. Other coordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion routes will be;

For A1101 Fornham Road

• the A1101, the A134, the B1106 and vice versa

• the A1101, the A1302, Western Way, Beetons Way, the A1101 and vice versa

• the A1101, the A134, the B1106, the A1101 and vice versa

For Tollgate Lane:

• the A1101, Beetons Way, Western Way, the A1302, the A1101, Tollgate Lane and vice versa

• Tollgate Lane, Beetons Way, Western Way, the A1302, the A134, the B1106, the A1101, Tollgate Lane and vice versa

• Tollgate Lane, Beetons Way, Western Way, the A1302, the A134, the B1106, the A1101 and vice versa

For Mildenhall Road:

• the A1101, the B1106, the A1101 and vice versa

• the A1101, the B1106, the A134, the A1101 and vice versa

• the A1101, the B1106, the A134, the A1302, Western Way, Beetons Way, Tollgate Lane and vice versa

For Norfolk Road:

• Norfolk Road, Northgate Avenue, Avenue Approach, the A1101 and vice versa

Phase 2:

• the B1106, the A134, the A1101 and vice versa

• the B1106, the A134, the A1302, Western Way, Beetons Way, the A1101 and vice versa

• the B1106, the A1101 and vice versa

Phase 3:

• Norfolk Road, Northgate Avenue, Avenue Approach, the A1101 and vice versa

Phase 4:

For A1101 Fornham Road

• the A1101, the A134, the B1106 and vice versa

• the A1101, the A1302, Western Way, Beetons Way, Tollgate Lane and vice versa

• the A1101, the A134, the B1106, the A1101 and vice versa

For Tollgate Lane:

• Tollgate Lane, Beetons Way, Western Way, the A1302, the A1101, Tollgate Lane and vice versa

• Tollgate Lane, Beetons Way, Western Way, the A1302, the A134, the B1106, the A1101, Tollgate Lane and vice versa

• Tollgate Lane, Beetons Way, Western Way, the A1302, the A134, the B1106, the A1101 and vice versa

For Mildenhall Road:

• the A1101, the B1106, the A1101 and vice versa

• the A1101, the B1106, the A134, the A1101 and vice versa

• the A1101, the B1106, the A134, the A1302, Western Way, Beetons Way, Tollgate Lane, the A1101 and vice versa

For Norfolk Road:

• Norfolk Road, Northgate Avenue, Avenue Approach, the A1101 and vice versa

From 29/09/2025 - 29/05/2026 there will also be a suspension of the one-way provision on the:

• A1101 Fornham Road, Bury St Edmunds southbound from The Tollgate Pub to the junction with Norfolk Road and;

• A1101 Fornham Road, Bury St Edmunds northbound from the junction with Norfolk Road to the junction with Tollgate Lane

From 29/09/2025 - 29/05/2026 there will also be a suspension of the no right turn provision on the;

• U2501 Tollgate Lane, Bury St Edmunds onto Fornham Road

• A1101 Mildenhall Road, Bury St Edmunds onto Tollgate Lane and;

• U2521 Bell Meadow, Bury St Edmunds onto Fornham Road

It is intended that these measures will operate in the following phases:

29/09/2025 - 13/10/2025 from 8pm - 6am with the exception of the U2501 Tollgate Lane which will be closed 24 hours a day

29/09/2025 - 29/05/2026

13/10/2026 - 08/04/2026

22/04/2026 - 16/05/2026

If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U8660 SHETLAND ROAD, HAVERHILL

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the U8660 Shetland Road, Haverhill from Fastnet Close for 30 metres eastbound to facilitate disconnecting underground cables. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period. Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Chalkstone Way and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 29/09/2025 - 03/10/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C676 LOWER STREET, STANSFIELD

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the C676 Lower Street, Stansfield from 42 metres southwest of Pippin Post Close for 20 metres south westbound to facilitate pole testing. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Pippin Hill, Lower Green, Assington Green and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate on 30/09/2025 from 9.30am - 3.30pm but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE B1071 SUDBURY ROAD AND LAVENHAM ROAD, LAVENHAM AND GREAT WALDINGFIELD

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the following roads

• B1071 Sudbury Road, Lavenham from Melford Road, Lavenham to Lavenham Road, Great Waldingfield.

• B1071 Lavenham Road, Great Waldingfield.

This is to facilitate carriageway patching. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be the B1071, the A1141, the A134, the B1115 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 29/09/2025 - 04/10/2025 from 7pm - 5am with a further closure scheduled for associated works. If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U7427 SHRIMPLING ROAD, HARTEST

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the U7427 Shimpling Road, Hartest from Elizels Cottage for 30 metres west northbound to facilitate water meter maintenance. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period. Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Stanstead Road, Shimpling Road Stanstead, Upper Street, The Green, The Hill, the B1066 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate on 30/09/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE AND SUSPENSION OF ONE-WAY TRAFFIC ON PART OF THE U7105 MALTING END, U7106 ROAD FROM 7107 TO 7105, C659 CHURCH ROAD, THE DUDDERY, U7062 WASH LANE AND U7061 CLOAK LANE, WICKHAMBROOK

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the following roads in the following phases:

• U7105 Malting End, Wickhambrook from the junction with the B1063 to the Road from 7107 to 7105.

• U7106 Road from 7107 to 7105, Wickhambrook from Malting End to outside Little Monks Farm.

• C659 Church Road, Wickhambrook from the A143 to The Duddery.

• C659 The Duddery, Wickhambrook from Church Road to outside Rolfes Farm.

• U7062 Wash Lane, Wickhambrook.

• U7061 Cloak Lane, Wickhambrook.

This is to facilitate installing fibre network. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion routes will be

  1. Southbound: Road from 7107 to 7105, Farley Green, Mill Lane, the A143, the B1063 and vice versa.

  2. The A143, the B1063, Cemetery Road, Coltsfoot Green and vice versa.

  3. Church Road, Cloak Lane, the B1063 and vice versa.

  4. Church Road, the A143, the B1063 and vice versa.

For the duration of phase 3 of this closure there will also be a suspension of the one-way provision on the

U7062 Wash Lane, Wickhambrook to allow access and egress.

It is intended that the closures will operate from

  1. 30/09/2025 - 20/10/2025

  2. 21/10/2025 - 03/11/2025

  3. 04/11/2025 - 12/11/2025

  4. 13/11/2025 - 26/11/2025

If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C207 GILLETS ROAD AND THE C206 MELLS ROAD, WALPOLE

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the following roads in the following phases

  1. C207 Gilletts Road, Walpole from Walpole Lane for 200 metres northbound

  2. C206 Mells Road, Walpole from the junction with the B117 for 481 metres eastbound

This is to facilitate communication repairs. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion routes will be

  1. The B117, Walpole Lane and vice versa.

  2. The B117, the A144 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 29/09/2025 - 30/09/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C516 SILVERLEYS GREEN AND THE C217 SPONG LANE, CRATFIELD

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the following roads

• C516 Silverleys Green, Cratfield from the junction with Spong Lane to Cratfield Road

• C217 Spong Lane, Cratfield from the junction with Silverleys Green for 195 metres eastbound

This is to facilitate overhead cable replacement. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period. Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Bell Green, Mary Lane, Linstead Road, Barrells Hill, Cratfield Road, Huntingfield Road, Sandy Green Lane and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 29/09/2025 - 01/10/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE B1067 BRAMFORD ROAD AND THE U4641 EUROPA WAY, IPSWICH

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the B1067 Bramford Road, Ipswich from Europa Way to Ashcroft Road to facilitate carriageway resurfacing. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period. Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion routes will be the B1067, the A14, the A1156, the A14, Sproughton Road, Europa Way and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 29/09/2025 - 01/10/2025 from 8pm - 6am but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE AND PARKING RESTRICTION ON PART OF THE A1022 COLLEGE STREET, KEY STREET, FOUNDATION STREET, THE A1047 FOUNDRY LANE AND THE A1033 LOWER ORWELL STREET, IPSWICH

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the following roads:

• The A1022 College Street, Ipswich

• The A1022 Key Street, Ipswich from College Street to Slade Street

• The A1022 Foundation Street, Ipswich from Star Lane to College Street

• The A1047 Foundry Lane, Ipswich

• The U1033 Lower Orwell Street, Ipswich from Star Lane to Key Street

This is to facilitate the installation of new ducting, carriageway resurfacing and new road markings. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Slade Street, Waterworks Street, Bond Street, St Margarets Street, Crown Street, St Matthews Street, Civic Drive, Franciscan Way, Greyfriars Road and no vice versa.

For the duration of this closure there will also be a temporary suspension of one-way traffic on the A1022 Key Street, Ipswich to allow access and egress.

It is intended that these measures will operate from:

• 7pm on 30/09/2025 - 5am on 02/10/2025

• 7pm on 20/11/2025 - 5am on 21/11/2025

• 7pm on 26/11/2025 - 5am on 27/11/2025

If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the U2306 Mill Road, Friston from the junction with the A1094 to the junction with the B1121 to facilitate duct clearing. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

The diversion routes will be the A1094, the B1121 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 29/09/2025 - 01/10/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the U3625 Drybridge Hill, Woodbridge from the junction with Bridgewood Road for 47 metres south westbound to facilitate the installation, replacement, renewal and disconnection of underground electrical service cables. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Seckford Street, the B1079, the A12, the B1438, Old Barrack Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 30/09/2025 - 03/10/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the C726 Burstall Road, Burstall from Ann Cottage to the junction with Burstall Lane to facilitate tree and cover repairs on joint box. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion routes will be the C724, Red Hill, Red Hill Road, the A1071 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 29/09/2025 - 01/10/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be the B1115, the A134, the A1071, the A1141 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 29/09/2025 - 02/10/2025 from 9.30am - 3.30pm but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).
