Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984
North Somerset Council (Prohibition of Stopping, Waiting, Loading and Parking Places) (Consolidation) Order 2022 (Variation No. 21) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that North Somerset Council propose to make an order in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The general effect of which will be to amend the North Somerset Council (Prohibition of Stopping, Waiting, Loading and Parking Places) (Consolidation) Order 2022 to include parking restrictions in several areas of North Somerset. The extent of the proposals are described in the Schedule to this notice.

All representations received may be considered in public by the council and that the substance of any representation together with the name and address of the person making it could become available for public inspection.

Abbots Leigh, Ham Green Road, extend double yellow lines at the bellmouth on the south side by one car length and install double yellow lines opposite driveway of Applehazel (map 5).

Backwell, Moorfield Road extend the existing yellow lines on the south side 6m (map 11).

Banwell, Littlefields Rise, double yellow lines around the bellmouth (map 26).

Barrow Gurney, A38 Layby Bride Cottage, install a parking bay limiting waiting to 2 hours (map 12).

Blagdon, Eastcroft, double yellow lines around the bellmouth and up to the library bay (map 28).

Garston Lane, double yellow lines on the inside of the bends (map 25).

Burrington, The Batch/A368, double yellow lines on the inside of the bend by the bay and make the bay 24/7 (map 24).

Clevedon, Lower Queens Road, new install single and double yellow lines either side of the road and on Long Ashton, Long Ashton Road, double yellow lines on the bend by the bay and make the bay 24/7 (map 24).

Clevedon, Lower Queens Road, remove taxi bay and single yellow line replace with double yellow line (map 6).

Pill, Macrae Road, remove double yellow lines around the junction, Lower Myrtle Hill, install double yellow lines adjacent to The Duke of Cornwall Public House (map 3).

Portishead, St. Joseph’s Road, install double yellow lines on the access arms in line with driveways and the access of Bourton Mead (Map 10).

Bridge Road, remove the 15 minute bay and replace with Business Bay (map 6).

Pill, Macrae Road, remove double yellow lines and install single 8-5 Wed–Thurs, map 4.

Mount Pleasant, install double yellow lines outside the church (map 3).

Friendly Row, double yellow lines around the junction, Lower Myrtle Hill, install double yellow lines adjacent to The Duke of Cornwall Public House (map 3).

Upper Kewstoke Road, remove approximately 12m of parking bay and replace with double yellow lines (map 18).

The Rows, double yellow lines on the bend and around its junction with Coronation Road (map 10).

Castle Road, double yellow lines in the road and at its junction with Lower Kewstoke Road (map 15).

Bree Close, double yellow lines around its junction with Westmarch Way (map 14).

Drove Road, amend the parking bay by the shop to 10 minutes between 8am and 10pm (map 23).

Little Orchard, Uphill, fill in the gap in the double yellow lines (map 29).

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 - Section 14
Temporary Traffic Regulation Order
Notice is hereby given that North Somerset District Council in pursuance of the provisions of Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, intends to make an order the effect of which will be to:
Temporary Closure of Road, Locking, North Somerset
Order effective from: 02 October 2025
Anticipated closure to be for 3 days.

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles and cyclists the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice.
This order is required because of carriageway surfacing works and will become operative on 22 October 2025, anticipated to be of 3 working days. The maximum period for the closures is eighteen months, however, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works.
Schedule – Old Banwell Road, Locking from the junction of Mendip Rise to the junction of Meadow Drive.
Alternative routes – Old Banwell Road, Locking Moor Road, Elm Tree Road and vice-versa.
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – Section 14(1)
Notice of Temporary Traffic Regulation Order
Notice is hereby given that North Somerset Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, intend to make an order the effect of which:
Villa Farm Lay-by, Hewish, North Somerset
Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2025
Date coming into Force: 1 December 2025
Ref: SW25.26-153
Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.
This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Bristol Water for three new water connections.
This order will become operative on the 1 December 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 3 days in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Notice is hereby given that North Somerset Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, have made an order the effect of which:
Shiplate Road, Bleadon, North Somerset
Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2025
Date coming into Force: 29 September 2025

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.
This order was required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Openreach to replace pole and cut trees. This order will become operative on the 29 September 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 6 hours in duration between 9.30am and 3.30pm. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2025
Date coming into Force: 3 October 2025

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.
This order was required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Openreach to replace pole with necessary tree cutting. This order will become operative on the 3 October 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 6 hours from 9.30am and 3.30pm in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2025
Date coming into Force: 27 October 2025
Ref: SW25.26-110
Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.
This order was required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Wessex Water to complete a Section 81. This order will become operative on the 27 October 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 2 days in duration between 9am and 5pm. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Pedestrians Order 2025
Date coming into Force: 3 October 2025

Will be to close, temporarily, to pedestrians the lengths of footpaths specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of footpath.
This order was required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Openreach to lay duct. This order will become operative on the 3 October 2025 for a maximum period of six months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 14 days in duration between 9.30am and 3.30pm each day. Appropriate pedestrian traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.
