South Oxfordshire, Temporary Road Closures Due To Fibre & Gas Utility Works

What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14(1)

Notice of Temporary Traffic Order

Kidmore End, Tanners Lane, Chalkhouse Green

Prohibition of Through Traffic

Date of Order: 15 September 2025

Coming into force: 22 September 2025

This Order is being introduced because of fibre cabling works which are anticipated to be completed 10 October 2025. This is a 24-hour road closure.

The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding in Tanners Lane. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. The alternative route for traffic will be sign posted locally.

This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref T15914/AC)

Goring, Mill Road

Prohibition of Through Traffic

Date of Order: 6 October 2025

Coming into force: 13 October 2025

This Order is being introduced because of gas mains work which is anticipated to be completed 14 November 2025. This is a 24 hour road closure.

The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding in the length of Mill Road from Wallingford Road to Cleve Road. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. Access maintained for residents will have to follow the diversion dependent on where their property is on the street. The alternative route for traffic is via Cleve Road, Elmhurst Road, Wallingford Road and vice versa. This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T16132/AC)

Prohibition of Through Traffic

Date of Order: 29 September 2025

Coming into force: 9 October 2025

This Order is being introduced because of fibre cable excavations and installations which are anticipated to be completed 17 October 2025. This is a 24 hour road closure.

The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding in the road running north-eastwards to Vines Farm off Chalkhouse Green Road. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road.

This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T15915/AC)
