Prestongate, Hessle (Whole Extent) - Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic And Rescindment Of One Way Traffic

What is happening?

THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (1) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC AND RESCINDMENT OF ONE WAY TRAFFIC PRESTONGATE, HESSLE (WHOLE EXTENT)

Notice is hereby given that East Riding of Yorkshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order, the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along Prestongate, Hessle (whole extent) commencing Monday 6 October 2025 until Friday 28 November 2025 and Monday 5 January 2026 until Friday 27 March 2026 (24 hours a day) to carry out Highway improvement works.
The road closure is necessary to enable the works to be carried out in a manner consistent with ensuring the safety of the public. The Order is valid for 18 months, but it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 27 March 2026. The alternative route for traffic affected by the road closure will be via South Lane, Station Road and Southgate, Hessle. The diversion route will be signed at the time of closure. Access will be maintained at all times for pedestrians, residents and emergency services only.
