What is happening?

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF FOOTPATHS

THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(WEST BRIDGFORD FOOTPATH NO.59, 60 AND 62)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council has made an Order, under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be: -

No person shall: Proceed on foot, in the following lengths of Footpath at West Bridgford in the Borough of Rushcliffe :-

West Bridgford Footpath No.59 and 62 and part of Footpath No.60 as shown on the attached plan

IT IS INTENDED that the prohibition will apply as follows:- From Monday , 22nd September 2025 until Friday, 19th December 2025 inclusive.

AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction access will be maintained from Blandford Gardens to the non-definitive pathway, and along Footpath 60 to link Compton Acres and Melford Hall Drive with the shopping precinct.

The prohibition shall apply to enable works to be carried out and in respect of the likelihood of danger to the public and damage to the footpaths. It may also apply on subsequent days when it shall be necessary. If the works are not completed within 6 months, the Order may be extended.

The prohibition is required to enable reinforcement of the watercourse bank which is undercutting the footpath, and in respect of the likelihood of danger to the public and damage to the footpath.

THIS CLOSURE WILL ONLY TAKE EFFECT WHEN SIGNS INDICATING CLOSURE ARE DISPLAYED THIS NOTICE IS DATED THIS 19TH DAY OF SEPTEMBER 2025.
