What is happening?

The Council of the City of Salford made the following Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. City Of Salford (Eccles Old Road & Gilda Brook Road,Salford) (Prohibition Of Waiting And Revocation) Order 2025

The effect of the Order will be to introduce the following: No Waiting At Any Time on: Eccles Old Rd - South and south-east side from its junction with Park Place to its junction with the south-westerly projected kerbline of Edgehill Road. The City Of Salford (A576 Eccles Old Road, Salford) (Reserved Bus Lane) Order 1998: This Order is amended by the deletion of the following lengths of Bus Lane routes - A576 Gildabrook Rd - Eastbound between Wellington Road and Half Edge Lane. A576 Eccles Old Rd - Eastbound between Wellington Road and Half Edge Lane. Eastbound between Half Edge Lane and Stott Lane. Eastbound between Lancaster Road and Tootal Drive. Eastbound between Tootal Drive and Weaste Lane. Westbound from Weaste Lane to Tootal Drive. Westbound between Tootal Drive and Lancaster Road. Westbound between Stott Lane and Devonshire Road. Existing Orders have been amended to be consistent with the proposals.
The Order will come into operation on the 18th September 2025. 

A copy of the Order and plan will be available for inspection at Swinton Gateway, 100 Chorley Road, Swinton, M27 6BP, Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm to Fri inclusive. Alternatively, copies of the documentation may be requested at phlegal@manchester.gov.uk or by writing to Fiona Ledden, City Solicitor PO BOX 532, Town Hall, Manchester M60 2LA quoting reference L/GS/ SCC006/01259. If you wish to question the validity of the Order or of any of the provisions contained in it on the ground that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 or on the ground that any requirement of that Act, or of any instrument made under it, has not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may within six weeks from 16th September 2025 apply to the High Court for this purpose.
