TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2025
Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council propose to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 not less than seven days from the date hereof the Highway Authority being satisfied that access to the said road should be prohibited because of the likelihood of danger to the public, or of serious damage to the road, which is not attributable to such works.
The effect of the Order, which will come into effect on 27th September 2025, will be to temporarily close lengths of road specified in Schedule 1 below at such times as traffic management signs may be erected to notify highway users of the closure. It is expected that the closures will be between approximately 17:00hrs on Saturday 27th September - 14:00hrs on Monday 29th September 2025.
The Order may continue in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. Bus services will be affected, temporary stops will be in use on Prince Regent Street and High Street (southern loop area). Notices will be posted on the affected bus stops. Access for emergency services responding to an emergency will be maintained. The Order will also have the effect of creating a temporary clearway on various lengths of road and suspending parking in a number of car parks and on street parking places, including some blue badge holder bays. The restrictions and roads affected are specified in the draft order and plans which can be viewed on our website by searching for traffic orders.
