Kennedy Street, Deansgate Ward - Temporary Prohibition Of Vehicular Traffic For Adjacent Mewp Works

What is happening?

MANCHESTER CITY COUNCIL
 TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED)

Notice is hereby given that the City Council intends, in not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make the following Temporary Road Traffic Order(s):
ORDER NO. MCC145028539: The City of Manchester (Kennedy Street, Deansgate Ward) (Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2025 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on Kennedy Street at its junction with Cooper Street. The alternative routes for traffic will be: Cooper Street, Princess Street, John Dalton Street, Deansgate, Peter Street, Oxford Street, Portland Street, Nicholas Street. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate adjacent MEWP works. It is expected that the works will be in progress on 2nd November 2025. The order shall come into operation on 2nd November 2025 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Dated: 20th September 2025. 

ORDER NO. MCC145027201: The City of Manchester (New College Street, Deansgate Ward)(Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic & Suspension of One-way Traffic) Order 2025 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on New College Street between the 2 Carpark Entrances. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate adjacent development works. It is expected that the works will be in progress from 3rd November 2025 to 2nd May 2027. The order shall come into operation on 3rd November 2025 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Kevin Gillham.
