What is happening?

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT ORDER

THE LONDON BOROUGH OF BARKING AND DAGENHAM

(KING EDWARDS ROAD, BARKING)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE OF INTENT

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in order to facilitate the installation of a new telegraph pole, the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham intends to make a Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

2. The order is expected to come in to effect on Saturday 11 October 2025.

The works expected for:

• The installation of a new telegraph pole to take 1 day to complete. Completion date estimated as Saturday 11 October 2025 with the work expected to be undertaken between the hours of 8.30am to 3.30pm.

However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be re-introduced should further works be required.

3. When the works are taking place and the appropriate traffic signs are being displayed the Order will temporarily: -

• Prohibit all vehicular traffic on King Edwards Road, both sides, from its junction with Salting Street to its junction with Net Street.

• Suspend the Resident Permit Holders Only Zone J 8.30am–9pm bays on King Edwards Road, both sides, from a point 16.5 south-east of its junction with Ripple Road to the extended common boundary of 24/26 King Edwards Road.

• Suspend the Bus Stop on King Edwards Road, south-west side, opposite Nos. 4 to 14 King Edwards Road.

4. Alternative routes for Vehicular traffic will be maintained and signed:

• Via King Edwards Road, Ripple Road, Movers Lane, Morley Road and Vice Versa.
