The East Sussex (Public Footpath Ringmer 10 (part))
(Temporary Footpath Closure) Order 2025
To protect public safety during refurbishment and associated construction works of Clayhill House, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following footpath:
Temporary Footpath Closure
Part of Public Footpath Ringmer 10 will be closed to all users between TQ 4444 1442 and TQ 4462 1432 for a distance of 210 metres. An alternative route will be available around the south of Clayhill House.
The closure will be in force for 6 months from 20 September 2025, or until the works are completed, whichever is the earlier, which after this period will require an extension from the Secretary of State, should the footpath still be unavailable to use.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Magreed Lane – for its entire length.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.
The Order commences 8 October 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 8 October 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Whitehouse Lane – from the junction with B2188 Lye Green Road to the junction with B2188 Lye Green Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via B2188 Lye Green Road and vice versa.
The Order commences 6 October 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 6 and 17 October 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

Burnt Oak Road – from the junction with U7861 Tibbs Mill Lane to the junction with C402 Hurstwood Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U7861 Tibbs Mill Lane, Fowley Lane – C402 Hurstwood Road and vice versa.
The Order commences 9 October 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 9 and 10 October 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

To allow SGN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Church Lane – for its full extent.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025 No.3
To allow Network Rail to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Station Road – from the junction with C110 Plumpton Lane to the junction with U5917 Station Close.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C110 Station Road – C6 South Road – C323 Honeypot Lane, Mill Lane – A275 South Road, Resting Oak Hill, Cooksbridge Road – B2116 Ditchling Road – C110 Plumpton Lane and vice versa.
The Order commences 7 October 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken from 22:30hrs to 05:30hrs between 7 and 9 October 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C210 Arlington Road West, Hailsham)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Arlington Road West – from the junction with C210 Caneheath to the junction with A22 Hailsham bypass.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A22 Hailsham bypass, Diplocks roundabout, Hailsham bypass, Boship roundabout, The Dicker – C39 Coldharbour Road – C690 Michelham Priory Road and vice versa.
The Order commences 8 October 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 8 and 11 October 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (A22 Uckfield Bypass/Eastbourne Road, Little Horsted, Uckfield/Halland)
(Temporary 30 mph Speed Limit) Order 2025
To allow UKPN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily restrict all traffic using the following lengths of road to a speed not exceeding 30 mph:
Temporary 30 mph Speed Limit
Uckfield Bypass/Eastbourne Road – from East Sussex National Golf Club to Layby Old A22.
The Order commenced 28 January 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until the works are completed, whichever is the earlier. The East Sussex (C411 Downash Road, Hailsham)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Downash Road – from the junction with C718 Old Swan Lane to the junction with C411 Saltmarsh Lane.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C411 Saltmarsh Lane – B2104 Ersham Road – A295 South Road, George Street – C411 Station Road, Downash Road and vice versa.
The Order commences 22 September 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 22 and 23 September 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Hammer Lane – from the junction with C596 Clappers Lane to the junction with C601 Kingsley Hill.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C601 Kingsley Hill – C15 Cowbeech Road, Foul Mile, Cowbeech Road – C409 Hammer Lane and vice versa.
The Order commenced 13 November 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 22 and 24 September 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Coggins Mill Lane – from the junction with C14 Fletching Street to the junction with C568 Lake Street.

Phase 1 – from the junction with A22 Diplocks roundabout to IMO car wash;
Phase 2 – from IMO car wash to the junction with U7221 Apex Way;
Phase 3 – from the junction with P8020 The Square to the junction with U7221 Apex Way;
Phase 4 – from the junction with P8020 The Square to the junction with A295 South Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A295 South Road – A22 Arlington Eagles roundabout, Hailsham bypass, Diplocks roundabout and vice versa.
The Order commenced 2 April 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 22 and 24 September 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

(Southover School Streets, Lewes) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that East Sussex County Council have made an Order, coming into operation on 22 September 2025 under the relevant sections of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, and of all other enabling powers, which will introduce the following restrictions:
Prohibition of Vehicles
Monday-Friday
Between the hours of 8.20am and 8.50am and between the hours of 3.00pm and 3.30pm Cleve Terrace – its entire length.
Potters Lane – its entire length.
The Course – its entire length.
The purpose of this Order is to facilitate a Safer School Streets scheme at Southover Primary School and is the confirmation of The East Sussex (Lewes)(Parking Places, Waiting, No Stopping and Loading Restrictions) Traffic Regulation Order 2020 Experimental Traffic Regulation Order 2024 (Southover School Street, Lewes).
A copy of the made Order, plans showing the lengths of road and a statement of the Council’s reason for making the Order permanent, may be examined in Reception, East Sussex County Council, County Hall, St Anne’s Crescent, Lewes BN7 1UE Monday to Friday between 9am and 4pm and online at;
Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or of its provisions on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the grounds that any requirement of the Act or any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order may within six weeks of the date the Order is made, apply to the High Court for this purpose.
