Devon - Multiple Temporary Road Closures due to Maintenance and Resurfacing Works

What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14

THE COUNTY OF DEVON (TEMPORARY RESTRICTION)

(DOLPHIN STREET, MARKET PLACE & SOUTH STREET, COLYTON)

ORDER 2025

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC

NOTICE is hereby given that Devon County Council has made the above titled order.

From 22/9/25 for a maximum of 18 months. Anticipated Finish 30/9/25.

Between the hours of 09:00 & 17:00.

No person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed on the sections of Affected Roads. Roads affected: Dolphin Street, Market Place & South Street, Colyton

The alternative, signed, route for vehicles will be via - Colyton Hill, Whitford Road, A358, A3052, B3161 & Visa Versa.

This temporary restriction is considered necessary to enable: Resurfacing Works. To ensure public safety the road will be marshalled.

It’s likely the road closure won’t need to be in place at all on 27/09/2025 - 28/09/2025. These dates have been chosen to not interfere with Colyton Carnival. No works over the weekend & the road will be re-opened.

ORDER 2025

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC

NOTICE is hereby given that Devon County Council intends to make the above titled order.

From 27/10/25 for a maximum of 18 months. Anticipated Finish 31/10/25.

No person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed on the sections of Affected Roads.

Roads affected: Road past Crannaford Cottage, Rockbeare

The alternative, signed, route for vehicles will be via - Road past Crannaford Cottage, road from Loxbrook Cross to Crannaford Cross, road from Heath Cross to Loxbrook Cross, road from Dog Village Cross to Lowdens Heath, Station Road, B3174, Court Royal, Tillhouse Road, Crannaford Lane, road past Crannaford Cottage & vice versa.

This temporary restriction is considered necessary to enable: Drainage Investigation Works.

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC

NOTICE is hereby given that Devon County Council has made the above titled order.

From 22/9/25 for a maximum of 18 months. Anticipated Finish 26/6/26.

No person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed on the sections of Affected Roads.

Roads affected: Silver Street, Honiton, (Road closure from Jct High St – Jct Newlands. Suspension of one-way)

The alternative, signed, route for vehicles will be via – Silver Street, Northcote Lane, St Cyres Road, Dowell Street, High Street - High Street, Dowell Street, Northcote Lane, Silver Street.

This temporary restriction is considered necessary to enable: S171 Works For Building Conservation.
