The above order was made on 12 September 2025 under section 118 of the Highways Act 1980 (as amended by the Transport and Works Act 1992). The Order will extinguish the public bridleway Binfield FP23A in its entirety. This Order is combined with a Modification Order under section 53(2)(a) of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 (“the 1981 Act”) so that, if it is confirmed, the Bracknell Forest Definitive Map and Statement will be modified in consequence of the occurrence of an event specified in section 53(3)(a)(i) of the 1981 Act, namely the stopping up of a highway hitherto shown or required to be shown in the Map and Statement.

The order is to extinguish the northern section of Mare Lane, which following separation from the southern side upon construction of the M4 motorway created a dead-end route with no useful function to the public.

A copy of the order and the order map have been placed and may be seen free of charge at Bracknell Forest Council, Time Square, Market Street, Bracknell, RG12 1JD from 8.30am to 5.00pm on Monday to Friday. Copies of the order and map may be bought there at the price of £3.00.

Any representations about or objections to the order may be sent in writing to the Access and Countryside Officer, Bracknell Forest Council, Time Square, Market Street, Bracknell, RG12 1JD or email Rights.OfWay@Bracknell-Forest.gov.uk not later 10 October 2025. Please state the grounds on which they are made.

If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, then Bracknell Forest Council may confirm the order as an unopposed order. If the order is sent to the Secretary of State for the Environment for confirmation any representations or objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with the order.
