Shropshire - Various Temporary Road Traffic Restrictions
What is happening?

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER/S -
PUBLIC NOTICES OF INTENTION
NOTICE is hereby given that Shropshire Council (“the Council”) intend, not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice, to make an Order/s under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 (as amended), the effect of which is to restrict the use of road/s as stated below. The Order/s for restriction is/are required for the purpose/s as stated below. There are exceptions in the Order/s to permit pedestrian access (and/or vehicular access at the discretion of the Council or Statutory Undertaker) to any land or premises having a frontage to the said highway affected where there is no other form of access, and to any access allowing the necessary works to be undertaken. Access will be maintained for cyclists, pedestrians and dismounted horse riders unless stated below. The alternative route/s for those affected by the proposal/s is/are as stated below.
It is intended that the proposed restriction/s will come into force on the 29th September 2025 and will continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months (unless extended upon the direction of the Secretary of State) or until any said works which it is proposed to be carried out have been completed, whichever is the earlier. However, it is expected the Order will only be operative for the duration as stated in below.
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using A51, London Road, Woore
Date & Duration: 3rd October 2025 from 20:00 to 06:00 4th October 2025
Purpose: Road closure - Repair defective manhole frame and cover
Alternative Route : A525, A41, A53, A51
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using B4385 between Bishops Castle and Pentre
Date & Duration: 1st October 2025 for 1 day between 09:30 to 15:00
Purpose: Road Closure-Openreach - Replace pole
Alternative Route : Bull Lane, B4384, A488, A489, B4385
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Caer Road, Oswestry
Date & Duration: 29th September 2025 for 33 days
Purpose: Road Closure - Mains replacement scheme
Alternative Route : Albert Road, Liverpool Road, Lloyd Street
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Claremont Hill, Shrewsbury. At the same time the one way system and no entry onto Claremont Hill from St Chad's Terrace will be temporarily rescinded for access purposes only
Date & Duration: 30th September 2025 for 3 days
Purpose: Road Closure - Cadent Gas, remedial works to be carried out to rectify defective reinstatement.
Alternative Route : St Johns Hill, Claremont Bank
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Cockshut Lane, Albrighton
Date & Duration: 30th September 2025 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure-Openreach-MJ Quinn are to replace 1 BT pole
Alternative Route : A41, Kingswood Road, High House Lane
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Coton Lane, Alveley
Date & Duration: 29th September 2025 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure-Openreach-MJ Quinn are to replace 1 BT pole
Alternative Route : A442, Unnamed road North East, Unnamed road South East, Hollow Ash Lane
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Glyn Morlas Lane and Rhyn Lane, St Martins
Date & Duration: 30th September 2025 between 09:30 to 15:00
Purpose: Road Closure - Safe Pole Testing
Alternative Route : Glyn Morlas Lane, B5069, B5070, Rhyn Lane OR continue on B5070, Chirk Bank, Pont Y Blew
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Heathton, Claverley
Date & Duration: 2nd October 2025 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure-Severn Trent Water- Bbox Renew and Meter
Alternative Route : Unnamed road South East, Six Ashes Road, Unnamed road North West, Unnamed road East and South East
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Mill Green, Hinstock
Date & Duration: 30th September 2025 for 2 days
Purpose: Road Closure - Reinstatement to damaged area.
Alternative Route : A41, Unnamed road North East, A529, Unnamed road South West
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Rectory Road, Albrighton
Date & Duration: 1st October 2025 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure-Openreach-MJ Quinn are to renew 1 pole
Alternative Route : Rectory Road, Albrighton By-pass, Kingswood Road, High Street, Newport Road
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Mill Road, Wollerton
Date & Duration: 1st October 2025 for 3 days between 09:30 to 16:00
Purpose: Multevo carriageway repairs.
Alternative Route : Unnamed road South, Unnamed road North East, Unnamed road South
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using A488 Hanwood Village
Date & Duration: 29th September 2025 for 9 days between 09:30 to 16:00
Purpose: Multevo carriageway repairs
Alternative Route : A5, A458, A483, A490, A489, A488
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road Asterton to Whitcot junction
Date & Duration: 30th September 2025 for 4 days between 08:00 to 17:00
Purpose: Carriageway resurfacing
Alternative Route : Unnamed road North, Unnamed road East, Unnamed road South towards Asterton
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Drawwell and Mine Bank, Clive
Date & Duration: 3rd October 2025 for 4 days between 09:30 to 16:00
Purpose: Multevo carriageway repairs
Alternative Route : Unnamed road East towards Preston Brockhurst, A49, Unnamed road West
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using New Road, Cleobury Mortimer
Date & Duration: 29th September 2025 for 5 days between 08:00 to 17:00
Purpose: Carriageway resurfacing scheme
Alternative Route : Furlongs Road, Ronhill Crescent, Ronhill Lane, The Hurst, Lower Street
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Sandy Lane, Hinstock
Date & Duration: 29th September 2025 for 12 days between 09:30 to 15:00
Purpose: Road Closure - Road closure required for the safety of the engineers for carrying out civils work.
Alternative Route : A529, Unnamed road North East, Unnamed road South West
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed Road between A464 and Ryton
Date & Duration: 1st October 2025 for 1 day
Purpose: Road CLosure-Openreach-MJ Quinn are to replace 1 pole

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed Road Between Cardington And Longville In The Dale
Date & Duration: 5th October 2025 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure - Severn Trent Water, boundary box install.

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed Road between Hope Bowdler and Ticklerton
Date & Duration: 29th September 2025 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure-Severn Trent Water-Boundary Box Installation
Alternative Route : Unnamed road South East towards Ticklerton, Unnamed road North East, B4371
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed Road Between Kenley and Harley, Kenley
Date & Duration: 29th September 2025 for 1 day between 09:30 to 14:30
Purpose: Road Closure - BT, pole replacement works.

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed Road between Mainstone and Bankshead

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed Road between Upper Ludstone and Hillend
Date & Duration: 29th September 2025 for 4 days
Purpose: Road Closure-Severn Trent Water- Long Com renew and boundary box install

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed Road in Between The B5061 and Uppington, Uppington
Date & Duration: 29th September 2025 for 12 days
Purpose: Road Closure - BT, installing ducting in verge and carriageway to connect customers to broadband and telecommunication services.

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed Road through Edstaston, Wem
Date & Duration: 29th September 2025 for 3 days
Purpose: Road Closure - New Water Connection

Purpose: Road Closure - Water mains renewal.

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road, Longford
Date & Duration: 29th September 2025 for 3 days
Purpose: Road Closure - New Water connection
Alternative Route : Unnamed road East, Unnamed road North and continuing West
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road, QuintaPark Boundary, Bronygarth
Date & Duration: 29th September 2025 for 3 days
Purpose: Road Closure - Meter Rebuild Chamber
