What is happening?
Proposed Signal-controlled Pedestrian Crossing
1. Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council proposes to amend a Signal-Controlled Pedestrian Crossing under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 in Lake Road with its junction with A2047 Fratton Road.
The proposal is to improve the pedestrian crossings on Lake Road and Fratton Road to make it easier for pedestrians and cyclist to cross. The current arrangement consists of two central islands allowing pedestrians and cyclist to cross Lake Road in 3 stages. This would be changed to 1 larger central island allowing pedestrians and cyclist to cross Lake Road and Fratton Road in two stages.

3. Persons wishing to support, object or comment on these proposals must do so by sending their representations to
gov.uk or by post to Traffic and Network Management, Portsmouth City Council, Civic Offices, Portsmouth PO1 2NE quoting ref: P022-25 by 10 October 2025 stating name, address and the grounds of objection or support.
