ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

(TEMPORARY FOOTPATH CLOSURE) ORDER 2025

WHESSOE, FOOTPATH 6

Darlington Borough Council intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make an Order under the provisions of Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to close:

WHESSOE FOOTPATH 6

From a point 260 metres north of Burtree Lane northwards to its end at the railway line

An alternative route is available via Burtree Lane, Whessoe Bridleway 5, Coatham Mundeville Bridleway 4 and Footpath 5

The Order is necessary to allow works to upgrade the footpath.

The maximum duration of the temporary closure under this Order is 6 months commencing from 29th September 2025, it is anticipated that it will be effective between 0800 to 1800 Monday to Friday and 0800 to 1400 Saturday, for 3 weeks.
